  1. We have a soft count of teams who are showing a strong interest in joining the: "Chase for the Cup" that number sits at 15 already We are also pushing the 400 mark in "likes" on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Lake-Ontario-Championship-Series/385407701604030 As much as our loved sport of trolling on Lake Ontario breeds involvement and in many cases competition, one thing we need to get back is a normal return of appreciation for the huge commitment to our teams: Our newly formed committee is definitely enjoying the current "buzz" that is now created and have worked in some cases feverishly to maintain a forward motion. A possible widely positive outbreak of a certain nature from our "Lake Ontario Championship Series" may have already taken place. (TBA) Teams are altering their tourney schedules from what we hear and taking this newly formed event seriously, Teams like Screamer, Primetime East and Vision Quest to name a few are excited about the "chase" and making their involvement happen at any cost. I know my newly formed Team A-TOM-MIK will be at all events for 2014 GREAT STUFF Tom
  2. Custom attractors have arrived, looking sweet, just about everything ready. Hope to see everyone there, some of the best specials available for this 1 time a year event -Awesome selection of attractors -Great selection of flies -Miles of copper Other items Tom
  3. Niagara has not complied to the chosen rule structure: Rule #1 Rules for participating tournaments 1-Must be a "no com" or "non com" tournament. There will be no communication permitted of any kind during tournament hours. I sort of agree Dave it is a sad situation however, with every single "major" event on Lake Ontario going No Communication: KOTL Series, Tightline Series, the new Oak Orchard Open and the East end Pro/Ams, as well as our 1 day invitationals etc., as a Committee decision (those who host and run the majority of the named events) we felt it unfair to opt a rule structure that allowed open communications with no set restrictions. Polls have been around and many times over majorities have spoken, we as a committee are trying our best to put a best foot forward and give this newly prestigious title its best chance for survival. With the rules in place we are hoping we have done that. Possibly in the future if there is a decision made for the Niagara Pro/Am to comply with our rule format in place we could come together on this, I guess time will tell Tom
  4. Awesome thanks Brian, I think these meetings should be mandatory

  6. This is truly an accomplishment I was hoping would come to life since the absence of its original history making cup. For a couple years now we have contemplated this and found it hard to come up with something that could emphasize its true potential. There have been many teams who've shed a certain commitment to this for such a long time and now there can be a comparative chase that can show growth and increase participation the way we had for many years in the past. For those competitive teams, captains, and enthusiasts alike to be able to now play part and to share the passion that so many before shared will be colossal. All for $100 with much more to win not to even mention its prominence in its accomplishment itself. Also for so many personalities to come together and build this and meet on the same page with like ideas and goals certainly says something about this sport and what many of us are after. This will be great, cant wait to compete, I've already added a venue to my tourney teams schedule for 2014 Tom
  7. Chartering Lake Ontario on a competitive level has been going on for many years, just the other day I was talking to a customer who had inquired about such. Such an opportunity is all I can think of, this experience can be an awesome one, and there are more tournies than ever to choose from I know of quite a few captains who welcome this involvement and who end up with repeat clientele seasonally to do so (as the clients get hooked) In no ordered preference at all but here are a few to think about: These captains are regulars to this type involvement: (I mentioned respective ports) Cold Steel Captain Tom Burke Oswego Thrillseeker Captain Vince Pierleoni Olcott Primetime Captain Pete Lahosky Oswego Ace Charters Captain Jimmy Samia Oswego Yankee Troller Captain Rick Hajecki Oak Orchard Sunrise II Sportfishing Captain Bob Stevens Oak Orchard Reel Excitement Captain Bob Songin Oak Orchard Lonewolf Sportfishing Captain Danny Evans Wilson Vision Quest Captain Pete Alex High Adventure Captain Troy Creasy Oswego Cannonball Runner Captain Eddie Monette Oswego Good luck to anyone looking Tom

  14. Northerns are there, I hit Henderson about 2-3 times a week from Oct. til Dec. I been fishing deep 33-37 fow, not targeting them but I take incidentals all the time, every year, year after year. All my biggest are taken out of Henderson as well, 34-38" are normal. We also take Walleye, large Burbot's and many other species, its amazing the fish that are in Henderson, again all these fish are incidentals, also the largest smallmouth I see over the course of a season come out of Chaumont. All fish are taken off the bottom bottom bouncing live baits Tom
  15. First you bone me on a batch of copper and get all apologetic after the fact. Now rattles, dude you got to find a way to make an easier 20 bucks for yourself, WTF. I think you lack the ability to take into consideration the effort some of us manufacturers put forth to help grow the interest on Lake Ontario. You won a major event this year and I put the copper deal behind us and shook your hand and congratulated you, now here you are attempting to stab me in the back yet again. Find a way to make your $20 somewhere else man !!! Geez Tom

  17. Just to update: The positive responses here are making a difference!!! Thanks to Matt and Jeff and all for you input, further investigation may ensue into the alleged "public" false accusations. After I first heard word of the potential Orleans County Pro/Am future No Communication decision and now even more it sure is a good feeling knowing "almost" all of our county officials are hopping on the majorities side (: At the current time our Lake Ontario tourney scene isn't as vast as all of us involved someday hope it to be, but to many of us its something to look forward to in a way we look forward to nothing else. A certain positive change is inevitable I feel, time will tell~~~~ Tom
  18. From an article published out of "Outdoor News" written in early July by Bill and I quote: We need to consider the source when deliberating on all info we read pertaining to something that someone is pro or con on. It's obvious who is against Open Communication and who is for it, a majority has openly spoken repeatedly, someone would have to be blind (or not want it) not to see it. If we were all to compare numbers on tourney entry its pretty easy to see where the majorities (of teams in this case) are putting their money now days. Just to answer the comment in the Outdoor News article from above, it would be easier and more believable to say: Tournament numbers across the Pro/Am series have significantly decreased for many years once Closed Communication was opened. The Oswego Pro/Am took a hit over the last 8 years or so, I don't feel anyone would argue (ok maybe 2 entities that come to mind of the top of my head) that to come back in 1 year would be a pretty hard feat, thus after it was wrecked. Give it time, lets see what a few years down the road may do, if it doesn't grow in a couple years then maybe its time for us to bow out as too much damage may actually be irreversible? But to fabricate info like has been stated is pretty dog-gone low. Unless I am wrong here and there is a higher power that knows all. Tom
