  1. where do all these so called biologest get there information that a so called eel barrier would stop ells and not fish. there is a small creek in jersey that has a3 to 4 foot dam on it and every year at a certain time for about a week thousands of ells keep jumping into the falls till they make it over just like you see salmon do on tv. i never went to college and became book smart but i do appreciate the common sense that i managed to learn.
  2. i run 13lb torpedo weights and think they work fine.i also run a regular cannon ball that works. i look at this way when a cable snaps which one wil bring the most tears.,the sharks or torpedo weights.
  3. uglyokuma left out the most important part you have to tap the hole out for the proper size screw.
  4. i have run a1989 sea nymph on the ocean and l. ontario for all those years.it took alot of pounding and i had rivets loosen and leak.what i did was fill the boat with water, mark the leaks.ithen carefully drilled out old rivets and then used the proper tap drill for a small screw to fill hole. i then covered screw with some fiber glass filler.it works when waranty and nothing else will.
  5. i find there is no question that solid rings are better from experince.i only use swevels with them. my question is that spoons with split rings, i would like to replace. if there is a way can some one explain .

  11. jasper,i made my own rigs, bought some clevis's,crimps and beads.went and got some 4"or 6" round alluminum insulalation covering and cut my own 4" and 5"large cow bells and added some tape to themi, i then punched a hole on one end added a clevis and attached like 3 or4 with some beads on both sides of bell to wire or mono leader.i then added a glow peanut to the say 3" leader. troll them slow,1.5to 1.9.troll them near the bottom so as to hit bottom every once in awhile you should have someone working the riggersup and down. i would like to use them on round valley but the bottom isn't as level as lake ontario and would be afraid to get hung up.you can also buy the same rigs for $15 to $20 bucks a peice.
  12. i have added a water seperator filter on my boat. do you think this would give me the protection i need ?
  13. i know this isn't a good site to discuss striped bass. but what the heck ,i got to know . Ray are you serious about the useing night walkers. do you fish them off of a three way rig near the bottom? i have been meaning to try the hudson.
  14. Bob,i have a 19' Sea Nymph with the same minkota trolling motor.I use it on the niagra river. how i did mine was first remove the rail then remove the front dock tye.i mounted on a angle a2x6 useing the 4 holes used for tye up.i then mounted my trolling motor to the 2x6. i also use a C clamp on opposite end of motor just for stababilty when thrusting motor.i also have a foot peddle up front. i use a battery up front with quick disconnect to battery.i put battery on charge every night. this is a cheap way to go for i only use it in winter on the riveri hope this helps you out
  15. iceman, i'm with you and had trouble with the junk paint and the spoon bending and i don't forget.the company did not want to make good for the cheap paint job, allthough it had been a productive spoon.
