I just bought the NauticPath USA chip .off of the internet the chip covers all of the east and west coastal waters including the Great Lakes, it gives depth readings the same as the NARVONICS gold chip and you only need one chip. LEI sells it for $109 v. $199 for the narvonics . i would check it out before you buy to see for your self.
  2. Ray, i'm glad you brought this up about the GPS. We fished this past week end on the Niagra and we thought our GPS went bad because it showed us our boat was on a street in Lewiston. Our unit was a GARMIN
  3. hey Dieselhp, i just measured the track for my Biig Jon rod holders and it measures 2 and 13/16 ths inches wide.

  5. i just got 2 Big Jon's that are mounted on a narrow track. They are spring loaded and adjustible . They look sturdy for my dipsy's so if any body else has them let me know what they think.

  7. i been checking on this unit and found that some people had a problem with the screen fogging up . those who own one of these units ley me know how your's is.
  8. i have a question on super braids or moo working on cannon downriggers.how will cannons short stop work when useing this stuff in place of wire?cannon uses its cable to stop your ball at the water line.
  9. Sponge,what i meant was that if i am in say 600ft of water could i look at say every thing in 60ft to 120ft and cut out the rest of the areaon the screen.
  10. i have another question. i now own a Lowrance unit,i set my screen to mark upper and lower limits so i can scan a smaller area. will the ds600x raymarine unit allow me to do this?

  13. i can only say that if it hangs up you would have a serious problem. i had a rubber band hang up on the first eye and it tore most the eyes off the pole before it shedded the wire and busted every thing off
  14. looking at a raymarine ds600x fishfinder. any one that has one or seen one could clue me in on what they think of this fishfinder would greatly appreciated.

  16. looking for a pencil sinker mold,1 oz to 1.5 oz or some one willing to sell these sinkers reasonable.
  17. looking for a barn or garage to store a 20ft boat in Youngstown or Lewiston area for Jan. Feb. and March.
  18. another thing to look at is weather your mtor is a long or short shaft. if you can use a short shaft it would be torward your advange.
  19. i also have a 9.9 trolling motor off to one side of maine motor but directly on the transome. i have my downrigger 2ft forward with 6ft booms.i often look over the side at my cable and with some of the strong currents and wind just pray they don"t catch the prop. judging the distance your motor sits back so far that you will almost be asking for trouble eventually.
  20. i have 2 cannon mag 15s that also has a switch that is touchy when raising in small increments. i also was wondering if this is normal.
  21. bill, after talking to you Sunday after noon and your info ,we went out Monday and were 10 for 13 ,a mixed bag of nice steelhead ,cohoes and 2 mature kings. thanks for the info.
  22. fished Oswego on the 4th went 5for7on the riggers 70to 110 foot of water down 70 on flys, went 7 for10 on the 5th 120 to 170ft of water down 70ft.on flys.we came back to Fairhaven after meeting fishshack and went 6 for 11 on the 6th,only had a couple of fish on the dipsy's and none on my poles that look like base ball bat's.
