  1. Does anybody know what the deal is whith the international marina?? I know the city took them over but all there old phone numbers don't work and theres no new listings. trying to get a slip for the second week of may. Thanks!!
  2. I too use the scotty Releases. They are especially helpful if you hook up with small steelhead or browns. You know thy are there. Now is next years class of salmon from the big fall drought of 4 years ago??
  3. Thats what I was thinking too. Plus I'm looking forward to tangling with somemore big atlantics. Are biggest was a 17lber this year, hoping for a 20lber for next year!!
  4. Thank you Capt Vince Pierleoni, I meant this reports section had been dead. I have been in the other forums and see there goin strong. I was hopeing somebody like you would reply with meaningful information. I caught a lot of the 5 to 15lbers both off of Fairhaven and Oswego this summer and was curious what it meant for next years class. Thanks again for the info!
  5. Oh I see now, "sit down" for a salmon class. Ahh I see. LOL
  6. Wow this board has been dead. What do you guys think about next years salmon class. I have heard both it will be good and it will suck. Some have said there were lots of 2 year old caught so it will be good next season....any thoughts??? I just re booked our summer vacation house in Fairhaven for two weeks end of July, so thats what got me thinking about salmon!!
  7. Hey wait a minute, I had to do all those things before I was allowed to post here!!!!!
  8. I love it!!! Do they have room in those fancy vests for flashers and flys?????
  9. That explains it, nice vest. Thats a classic!!!!! LOL!!! I love it.
  10. I wish when I bought the boat I would have been smart enough to have one put on. There must be somebody out there that makes a light weight hardtop. I will have to hit all the boat shows over the winter. And i too have extra ballast!!
  11. Guys I HATE my canvas and I'm thinking of putting a hardtop on my 19.5' starcraft islander. Is there anybody around that sells used or new hardtops??? used would be better if its cheaper but I will pay If I have too for a new one. Any ideas?????
  12. Nice Job!!! My wife always seems to catcher the bigger fish too in the boat!!!
  13. I have thought about it but I have heard a lot of equipment gets stolen there every year. Is this true??
  14. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Jumpin Jack ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):Aug29th-Sept1st Time on Water:5am till 6pm Weather/Temp:freakin hot Wind Speed/Direction:almonst still Waves: Less than 1 Surface Temp: 75 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): Had 4 tough days of fishing. started out in port ontario. marked lots of fish from 60' out to 90' but they were tough to get to bite. water temp was 69 degrees all the way out to 120' on the bottom. We ended up 3 for 6 in two days with a 27lber being the biggest. The boat traffic was the worst I have ever wittnessed for the last 10 years of coming up on the same dates. at one time we counted over 200 boats off of the mouth of the salmon river!!!! Tuesday we moved to Oswego after recieving a hot tip of cold water and active fish. We found good temp and good bait and fish in 130' foot of wate to the east of the chute. We went 2 for 6. all dypsie hits. all white and green dot spinnys with the shredded hammer fly. much better trolling off of oswego. guys are more curtious and more respectful of each other. I had electrical issues with my sub troll the last two days. The male female connection to the recieving antenna had a cracked wire and would not read. I never realized how blind you are without down speed and temp. I have two probes just in case of trouble with one but never thought to have extra wirring. now i will on a side note, I spent two days with a slip in port ontario at the lighthouse marina. word of caution to anyone who is looking to rent a slip there. The docks are in bad shape and falling apart. if you dont walk down the middle you risked sinking the dock and falling in. we had to go one by one to get in and out of the boat. Hope they do some repair work soon. Spent the last two days with a slip at the international marina who just had re done there docks and man are they great!!! solid metal docks with rubber bumpers around them, 4 stars in my book!!!!!! =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================
  15. Thanks Tom!! Greatly appreciated!!!! Looks like it was a tough tournament for some!!
  16. WOW! quite the upset to say the least. Where we can I find the rest of the team placeings?? Just curious where everyone else placed!!
  17. Is it a jury of people from Altmar???? Or from all over??? Its not like anybody would be afraid of these thugs and be afraid of pay back from them if they are on the jury and live in town. You gotta laugh it when the fines are worse for snagging trout and salmon than if you almost kill someone. Wait till this year....everyone fishing will be nervous and packing heat.....then we will be reading about gun play in the schoolhouse pool....gotta love new york state.

I usually start around the first week of September. ====================
  19. I agree with rdebadts the rigger ball on your screen looks a little too deep. I alway find that the fish that are higher up in the big pods like that are more active.....to me anyways. if they are intrested when you are running above them you should see the archs streak twards your rigger balls on the screen.
  20. Hey it worked...only pic I can get to go. I phone pic did not do it justice.Thats the magnum R@R monkey puke I was talking about in its mouth. New style with the hook up.
  21. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water:7/15 to 7/28 Weather/Temp:hot Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: from glass to 4 footers Surface Temp: 76 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: many Total Boated: over two dozen Species Breakdown: many beautiful steelies, browns, 1 17lb atlantic, many, many 2 year old kings Hot Lure: R@R razor monkey puke Trolling Speed: 2-3 surface Down Speed: 2.3 Boat Depth: 250' Lure Depth: 120-140 for kings browns steelies and atlantic were all around 70' ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Spent the last two weeks vacationing with the family in beautiful Fairhaven. Had a good time fishing with many steelies landed. I have never seen so many steelies around like they are this year. All 6 to 15lbs!! And they are willing to hit. The sad part is the lack of adult kings around. Boy I hope they start to show soon. Steelies and browns were all around the 70' mark. free sliders did most of the damage to them. The new R@R monkey puke razor was on fire. Almost all steelies and my 17lb atlantic came on that spoon. Stinger green and blue dolphins were hot too. All the two year old kings came on green and white spinnys with the usual glow Atomik and hammer live series flys. Mag blue dolphin and R@R circus freak were working well. We mostly stayed in the 200-250' range about 5 miles to the west of the Fairhaven chute. I also had the privledge to fish with team Hat trick out of Oswego for the little salmon river tourney. We came in 4th. It was discouraging to see the big team names that went way west to charter boats for kings. I hope they change the rules for next year for that. Anyways we had a blast, will be back for the last week of the loc. 17 lb Atlantic ====================
