  2. You got it! shipping ups is around 11 dollars. is that ok??
  3. Do the big kings survive for you guys in the summer if you try to revive them?? I have had about 30% that swam off on there own after holding them face forward on the side of the boat. the other 70% end up in the cooler. I like to try to let a few go, especially the smaller kings.
  4. 750ss and 8500ss are sold. The Penn 704Z is still available.

  7. Mr clean, is the fish cleaning station a clean it your self or do they have a professional there to do it for you?? We rent a house right by you guys and I have always had to drive to Oswego to get our fish cleaned. I would rather stay in Fairhaven.
  8. I go with down speed. I use a sub troll. usually 2.5-2.7 BUT on occasion I have hit them when they wanted them slow at 1.7-2.0
  9. clean and fast AND behind dipsys on a #3 setting!! especially off the mouth of the big salmon. Killer this time of the year.
  10. Love it!! Bet it would slow down those charter boats and rec boats that do it!!
  11. I run two Lowrance units and have always had good luck with them, HOWEVER now that I have learned (from this site) that after your unit turns 5 years old, they won't repair any problems with it. So take that into mind when shopping for sonar/plotters. I have 3 grand worth of Lowrance sonars that will have to be replaced when they break down.
  12. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:jumpin jack ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):8/21-8/29 Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: A ton Total Boated:29 Species Breakdown:kings cohos Hot Lure:atommik green and hammer flys Trolling Speed: 2.9 Down Speed: 2.2 Boat Depth: 90 Lure Depth: 70-90 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS What a great week. We caught a ton of fish and lost twice as many. The mother load is out in front of the salmon river. Everything worked but dipsys were the hottest by far out fishing the riggers 5 to 1. 75 feet of water early morning then out to 90 during the day. The kings are fighting very hard this year and the cohos are huge. If you can get out there do it soon!!!! ====================
  13. Anybody been out of Port Ontario this week. Coming up with the family and just looking for a depth to start at. Thanks
  14. Ok since were on the subject.......from what i read up above its better to send out the copper first then the dipsies?? I have always put my dipsies out first, then sent the copper down the shoot, then put it on the planer line and sent it to the board. Is this a good way to put out the copper??? Now i'm not sure if I have been doing it right???
  15. Glow evil eyes trolled very slooow in September in front of the river mouths for staging kings are killer!!!! But you didn't hear that from me.

    Gas???

Non ethanol all the way. My kicker runs like its brand new and it's 16 years old.
  17. I usually run 20lb fluro leader for my free slide cheaters this time of the year. Is that to much for trout??? should I go lighter?? I catch small steel and browns but nothing big. Just curious what you guys use for leader. Thanks!! Its kinda funny, My 8 year old son is afraid to reel in big salmon but loves to reel in trout. So I need to up my trout numbers for him while trolling for salmon to keep the adults happy. its tough to keep everyone happy....LOL!!
  18. Richard, are they having food at the weigh in?? This is my first time fishing the Fairhaven challenge.
  19. you could call the light house marina in port ontario. that might have a slip open.
  20. crw4374, I own a 19.5' starcraft islander i/o. You will have no problem, just use common sense. The islander series has a very deep hull. Deeper than some of the 24' s out there. It was made with the great lakes in mind. as far as rough water, if waves get over 3' we head in. I have gotten caught a couple time in bad weather that came up fast and threw some bigger waves at us and we took our time and made out fine. What year is it??
  21. Any body been fishing out of port Ontario lately?? Just curious on the water levels in the estuary of the salmon river. We rent a house up there for two weeks and it's been offley dry. Hopeing there is still up enough water to make it to our dock???
