  1. I would use size 4 or 5's , silver or green. Ray
  2. If you are fishing in close, I would use J-plugs. Ray
  3. Do not give up...with that being said it can be a low one day and then a high the next. Approx. one week ago, I found the bait and the fish wanted to cooperate. See my post... viewtopic.php?f=14&t=13143 I went out this past Saturday and found the bait and fish via the screen and could not get a strike. I tried everything from spinny and fly to cut bait and spoons. Nothing worked. I washed everything for 5 hours. Not one strike. I believe the full moon had an effect on the fish.this past week. Brighter nights, in my opinion, means the fish feed more at night and less during the day. Anyhow, it can be a struggle, so keep at it. Ray

We changed programs often. The three hits we took in the morning came on a NBK spoon on the wire dipsey back 300. Ending the morning 1 for 3. The evening run...we went back to where we were marking fish in the morning and it paid off, they were biting. However, the only thing that would fire was the middle rigger set at 117 with the white spinny and white fly. Ended the evening 5 for 6. Had my cousins kids out with us and they had a blast...sorry no pics, camera was in truck. Good luck, Ray ====================
  5. I was told for docking that all boats had to be docked at the port of oswego. I called port of oswego and they are receiving the registration from Yvan and are assigning dock spaces. Ray
  6. thanks guys. I will give him a call. He had my registration, so I am assuming the email went into my spam folder, which is deleted automatically. thanks again for the replies. Ray
  7. My cousin and I entered the Oswego Scotty for the first time and are puzzled by the lack of information received at this point. I called Ivan a couple of weeks ago and he stated we should be receiving an email in regards to our registration we submitted back in April. Neither one of us received it. For those of you that entered the Scotty in Oswego, have your received any information? Thanks for letting me know. Ray

  12. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Monday Time on Water: 6:30 - 11:30 am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 2 Total Boated: 2 Species Breakdown: 1 - Atlantic, 1-Steelhead Hot Lure: NBK Trolling Speed: Downspeed 2 - 2.5 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 100 - 300 Lure Depth: various ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== It was very slow for us this am....nothing on the riggers or dipseys. Tried flies and cut-bait. The two fish came on a free slider in 110 fow. I found the temp, but there were only a few bait pods with a couple of fish spotted. I was hoping to get out in the afternoon, but my trailer gave me a problem. On the way to get gas and try out Mexico Bay, the bands on one of the springs broke and my first axle was free floating on one side. Luckily, we were not to far from Wright's landing and made it back. Got the spring off and took it to Fulton Spring and got it back on, however, not in time to go back out. What an afternoon! My crew, Matt and Steve, thanks for all of your help.
  13. Are you getting a "GPS Not Responding" response on the unit? If it worked with the new antenna, then I am assuming you have power to the LGC-2000 (antenna). Click on the following link....it will help you troubleshoot your problem. http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Prod ... esponding/ Good luck. Ray
  14. Got a late start on Saturday (9:00am), fished till the weather blew us off. There is nothing to report because we did not have a single taker. When launching, talked to another boat that was out from 5 -9 and they did not have any takers either. We launched out of Dean's Cove. Ray
  15. As Gray Fox stated, make sure you have power to the antenna. I have an older lowrance product and I had to replace all the cables...not sure why, but Lowrance, did give them to me for free. As Seasquirrel stated, call lowrance, they can help you troubleshoot. Good Luck, Ray
  16. I have an '89 Thompson 240.....had three years now and I love fishing out of it. I like the ability to walk (standing up) under the hardtop and I feel very safe when out in it. Just as everyone else said, get a survey and take a sea trial. good luck on your decision. Ray
  17. How old and how many watts? Transmits and receives? Do you know the model number? Is it a fixed mount or handheld? Ray
  18. another great link is...... http://forums.iboats.com/ Ray
  19. I would stay clear of OMC's and Yamaha's. I think a good choice would either be volvo or mercruiser. Good luck. Ray
  20. Thank you for all that have served and those that are.....you are appreciated!
