  1. Here is what I have and love it...24' Thompson Hardtop with a Yamaha 9.9 HT model with power tilt and trim. I too had a problem with my swim platform. For the bracket I am using the following... https://www.adventuremarine.net/product ... &do=detail I had to cut a small section of my swim platform (2" off the end) to get the right height for the kicker motor. For the throttle...I use ControlKing (very easy to install). For the Steering...I use E.Z. Steer Connectors (very easy to install). As far as battery charging...my setup keeps the batteries charged and I use the same setup as you described. Good luck with your decision. You will like the fuel savings!
  2. I purchased this past year a new extra long shaft 9.9 yamaha 4 stroke with power tilt/trim and was worried about how to mount it to the transom. Well, I purchased an adventure marine fixed mount and it is awesome. It has been in use this past season and I would buy this setup again. The link is attached... https://www.adventuremarine.net/product ... &do=detail
  3. I use the following... ULTIMA FLO-CAST MONOFILAMENT FISHING LINE http://www.centerpinangling.com/main-line.html
  4. +1. I was out in the garage Sunday trying to find an extra base plate that I have and I was going to send it to him for free but couldn't find it. I don't know the whole story but it would be nice if this guy (Chartoose) at least responded. Glen +2.
  5. $230 sounds very fair for winterization if it includes all the right components. If you are going to do it yourself, get a service manual for your boat. If you use antifreeze, please do not use the toxic kind. Also, why not just drain the block and risers of the water. Air doesn't freeze.
  6. Sounds like a nice day... good job.
  7. With OMC not in business and parts getting harder to find, I would part it out. There is a market for OMC parts. Or, if you love the boat and can fiberglass convert it to a mercruiser. There are conversion kits available.
  8. I do not know about Penn Electrics....however, I started using manual cannons(uni troll HP), then jumped to electric cannons (mag 10) and now I have electric scotty's (1116) and I love my scotties. Good luck with your decision. Ray
  9. Launched out of Long Point around 8 am and didn't find fish until later in the morning. When we hit fish, it was a pod of hungry lakers. It was fun, however not any big ones, biggest was 5 lbs. Lots of action for the next couple of hours. Ended up going 12 for 15. Copper spoons with a blue streak and silver with a black streak was the key today. Ray
  10. Here is the link for the Finger Lakes and Tribs. Appears to be open all year for the finger lakes only. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/31417.html

Disappointed, we started trolling back to Little Salmon, because that's where we launched, and between Selkirk and Little Salmon, bam, bam, two hits, two fish. Fish were in 20 FOW. Guess we should have been fishing here all day, oh well. It was our last hurrah on the big lake...couple more times on the Finger Lakes and the boat will go into hibernation until spring.
  12. I launched out of Dean's Cove...cross the lake from you and we fished in 150 to 300 fow and lure depths from 40 - 120 and all we had to show for it was 2 small LL. Ray

  15. WTG. As stated, the addiction has begun. You will love and hate Lake O.
  16. Wow...had me in stitches remembering all the things I did...nobody mentioned firecrackers. Thanks for making me laugh this morning. Ray
