I've owned both tekotas and the new saltists. Tekotas are great reels..drag is a little touchy. In My opinion , the saltist blow away tekotas. I like the drags, faster gear ratio, and machined parts. sadwick Good red head spots would be Cayuga and Conesus. The problem with those spots is they get hunted alot. Canandiagua is good also. Canandiagua is tough because of the depth. Ive layout hunted out in the Big Lake , but the flocks of Bills aren't hanging around like years past. Most of my open water hunting is done for Scoters and Oldsquaws....Good luck and I have to agree with you...Layout hunting is awesome.

Bob. You need to be patient on the strikes. Only set the hook if you can feel them on the line. When I used to bass fish with t-water baits, I would close My eyes when retrieving the bait. Up in the islands....try Carlton island around the iron man. Walleyes and an occasional muskie. Jig some twisters tipped with minnows. Conesus lake will have some good northern, largie, and an occasional tiger... good luck man.... [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
