  1. Chowder you aint kidding. I usually just run a copper on one side and a ten color on the other. Alot of time keeping things simple puts more fish in the boat
  2. If you have the 600 on the outside and the ten color on the inside, What would happen if the 600 gets hit? Almost all my copper fish tend to work their way to the back of my boat. I think it might have something to do with the weight from the copper line. That being said the 600 would have to get around that 10 color. Good chance for a nice tangle, loss of gear and an hour long headache. I am totally speaking from experience....Massive tangle and a lot of money down the drain. If that set up works for you, all the more power to ya. The name of the game is what ever works, go with it. I only ran my rigs like that once....and once was enough...LOL
  3. Ten color on outside. I theory if the ten gets hit, the fish would be brought in over the copper. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  4. Scott ... the B.B.B in watermelon color. You know the lead length already. Crazy Beehhatch paddle. The 300, out on the board......I took two big boys on it and cracked it off on the third fish.
  5. Scott.... try "bristol bay brawler" off the 300. Been very active [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  6. Another vote for ira jones. Very professional and provides a detailed report at the conclusion of the survey. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  7. I have used Blacks releases forever. Just changed over to Scottys and love them. I like the fact that on Scottys it is very easy to see shakers(A ton this year). The rods load up nicely also. On many occasions, with blacks releases, I have dragged shakers around and never knew they were on. Another plus for Scottys...no line twist to set the release....just pop the line in the pads and send it down.....
  8. Hey bruce... Shhhhh......There are absolutely no fish off Roch.....LOL......let me borrow that rusty knife when your done.....Had a Buckeye that would be a solid 2 right now...... " Whats a guy gotta do......?" Good luck next week brother..
  9. Jim....Cool pics man. there have been some diesel buckeyes this year. My last few trips out have been ones for the books.....Tell your dad I said hello.....
  10. Diawa saltist line counters. The high gear ratio is amaizing. Especially when running sliders. When a fish hits the slider and the rigger rod gets slacked up, the high speed reel allows You to get the line tight very fast. I'm totally sold...... [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  11. The above noted downsides to the X-4 are accurate. The downside to coated cable is it can wear out and need to be changed. The Moore and sub-trol are great units no doubt. I'm Just not a big fan of the cable. The discussion will be similar to the chevy vs Ford arguement. The bottom line is any down temp/speed will put more fish in your boat. Good luck shopping.. 12. Awesome unit. Been using it for two seasons now and have had zero complaints. You wont be disappointed. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  13. Thank You to our northern neighbors for assisting in bringing back atlantics. We have had the pleasure of catching a few this year. All of which have been returned. The first thing I Tell clients is...We can keep any legal fish You want, but all atlantics get cpr'ed. Great fighters and I hope to see more in the upper teens. Thanks again [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  14. Gold Sammy pac casting spoon... Unfortunately they are not made anymore.... [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  15. All I can say is "Holy Smokes".....Bruiser Cohos charging the boat, Big ole Buckeyes making towering leaps and the screaming drags of those kings.....My gear is in shambles after this weekend. Where do I start.......cracked off on two separate riggers with cheaters, flies bit off (I use 50# fly leader by the way). Copper reels welds ( where the reel is welded to the reel seat) broken. Big steelie taking my wire into my copper rig turning it from a 300 to a 150.....And finally a crack off of an entire 300 copper, spin dr fly and leader. I just have to remind myself that $hit happens out there. There is a bright side...I get to make another trip to the Oak and "replace" lost gear. Of course a guy can never have too many spoons, Flies and Spin Dr.'s.... Tight lines
  16. Thanks guys....I have to admit I like watching the rookies bringing them in. They commented that they Never knew We had such great fishing in lake ontario. I've always said the Port of Rochester is one of the "sleeper" ports. Great diversity of gamefish to catch. Tight lines....... [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  17. My last rtip out was with a group of "greenhorns". Well to say the least I was impressed. The ladies sure took care of business....Enjoy the pics.
  18. I second Tom barberra...he's the only one I would trust with My rig [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  19. On The lam.....couldn't have said it better myself. Look guys The day that those terrorits took down our planes and attacked us was The proven point We need to attempt to square our borders away. If a hour long boarding can possibly prevent another act like 9/11, I will happily comply and Thank The agents for the jobs they do. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  20. Get swivel bases for The corners. Run those off The sides and then get a boom for The chute. Ad long as your not fishing in horrible current.....You should be fine. Less cables buzzing through The water The better...imo [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  21. Bite The bullet....fish hawk X-4 [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  22. Could you mount The rigger in The center? I run a three rigger set up. Very effective especially with spooky fish. My chute rigger is usually deepest. However sometimes I run it shallow. Just have to improvise and adapt to What they want. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  23. Here is a good Bull I caught in Cabo a few years ago. Captain said it was over 60....All I can tell you is the fish fought like hell. Ive fished Florida a few times and by far the best has to be Islamorada in the Keys......Awesome inside Tarpon and Permit. Offshore are plenty of Smoker Kings, Sails and some Dolphin. I have my eye on a Costa Rica trip with the misses......One Word...ROOSTER! Every saltwater fish Ive caught has been a battle. Even a 4 lb Bonita will fight you like a smallmouth on steroids. Good luck with your trip.
  24. Jerry....Not the dirk diggler "70's pornstash.........
  25. Every time I drive by Braddocks (Daily) I just shake my head in disgust. What an absolute fantastic resource that is just about wasted. I for one would have my rig parked there if the bay was passable. 2 1/2 feet? What a shame. All Braddocks would need is a some dredging, and a couple jetties to help keep out the silt. A true diamond in the rough...just needs the polish.......
