  3. Good morning, I have a 1967 starcraft with a merc 120/sterndrive. I have had it for the past 6 years. with alot of work it runs well, looks good and performes great. Since April I noticed that the starbord side trim cylinder is leaking.(seals bad) I also noticed the port side trim hose had a small buldge. Last week while coming out of the water that trim line blew. (go figure) well here is the thing......that trim line is not the correct line. from day one i noticed that it had been replaced with a hyd brake hose. Also the side cap or cover that screws into the transom that protects the line as it passes through to the connector block is missing. Here are my 2 problems. 1) I have the proper trim line that needts to be there but I need a cover for the pass through any ideas on how to get one? 2) I removed the trim cylinder and found a torn seal in the screw cap portion(where the ram comes through) this seal has a brass ring incased in the seal. I picked up a seal kit from a local dealer but was not the correct one. With some searching I am unable to find a seal kit. The trim cylinder is a small one with only one trim line (connets near transom) If anyone can offer some advise or has any info on how to find what I need please reply. Thank you Chris.

  10. Good morning, I need some help with finding a canvas top side curtains and a drop curtain for my 69 18' starcraft I/O. I curently have a top that snaps to the windshield but it does not have the side ar drop curtains the zippers are there for the sides thats it. I googled it and the cheepest I found was a place in canada that can do it up new for $900 and they need the boat. Does anyone know if I can find a used set up or a place that can do up one for less that $900 and is local? Roch area. Any thoughts will help. Thanks. Chris.

  12. Hello, I am in need of replacing the exhaust manifold on me 1967 merc 120. its old,has been repaired. gaskets leak. Can anyone point me in the right direction on finding one. Thanks, Chris.
  13. Motoman, The past 2 years king action has been good out of Rochester. Start out early from the genny and go west. First couple of weeks in May are good. Drop the riggers and use a 50-60 foot set back with NK28's Purple/Black has been a hit. Speeds in the range of 2.2-2.4 work well also. When you are infront of russel station look for smoke from the stacks. This shows that warm water in being let out to the lake. Turn and troll south till you are in 15-20 foot, adjust the riggs accordingly. at this point set out some stick baits that dive arount 5 foot or so,turn and go east then north again. Do this for a while till the Action stops. Then head to 70-80 foot. or go for breakfast. Of course its hit or miss some times but Iv hade good luck with my boat and on my buddy's doing this. If nothing hits shorten the leads to 10-20 feet. or speed up or down a bit. Somtimes this makes all the difference. Good luck. Chris.
  14. Got out Saturday morning around 6:30am marked plenty of fish from the mouth out to 80 feet. Fished till 10am went 2 for 2. 1st one came at 8am down 20 over 50 fow on a black/purple nk with a 30 foot set back, nice bronze 20lb chinook. speed 2.8 hit hard off the rigger. 2nd came around 10 as we were heading in 22ld king down 52 over 80 on a "die hard" stinger back 30. Not bad, good times. Tried a few j-plugs with no luck. Down temp on both was 65.7
