Rick, when they (customers) want fish and Mr.king wont play, you do what you have to do. They may be chickens, but they are fun to catch and not to mention a little feisty in that cold water !!! I see smiles and that's what matters. Good job and thanks for the report. -
On the rigger rods We run 30 lb Ande mono then seaguar 20 lb fluor as a leader. Works good for us. You can use just about any line type you want. I wouldn't skimp on the leader. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Crazy seeing all those alewife's. Saturday was a good day for us as we'll. We to tried offshore to see what we could find. Nothing. We moved in and worked the mud line 8-15 fow. Sticks off the boards in the typical yellow and orange. Front of the creek was hot. We boated 13 total. Shook a bunch off as well. A couple of steelhead and a coho were in the mix. We doubled up and even tripled a few times. I'm thinking the offshore bite will kick in very soon. Good time getting into the browns though. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

Last year there was a big recall on them. Okuma replaced them for no charge not even shipping. I use 30's for wire and they work very nice.

1 year old Lowrance Elite-5 Color DownScan Imaging Fishfinder + Chartplotter. I'm upgrading to a bigger unit. This is a complete unit and works great! I'm also including a 15 foot Transducer extension cable. It also comes with transom mount hardware or trolling motor mount hardware. It also includes the operation and installation manuals. BONUS! The chartplotter has waypoints still for some good hot spots Lake Ontario Sandy Creek area (Hamlin NY) Paid $450 new last spring and paid $45 for the extension cable. Asking $300 for everything.

Hey Guys, I frequently hunt these critters on a regular basis. I have been for 3 years now. I use an electronic call as well as mouth calls and hunt them at night. I have all the equipment to get it done. I am always looking for spots to hunt them. I would love to come out and hunt them on your property if you would have it. Send me a PM and we can exchange numbers and talk. Thanks.

suggestions for a good coyote gun
The Scottsman replied to The Scottsman's topic in Hunting Equipment
Wow!!!! I can't believe this thread is still going! lol!! I started it in 2009! UPDATE........ In 2010 I got .17 HMR from a local gun show.(affordable at the time) Worked well on yotes that were close. Under 100 yards. As long as my shot placement was good they went down after a short run. I believe I was using Hornady rounds. 25 grain. Just not enough. So in 2012 I upgraded to a .223 Remington varmint model with the 26' bull barrel. Awesome rifle! she is sighted in to 200 yards right now and as long as I'm steady I can hit a Quarter at 200 yards. (at the range) I'm using 55 grain Hornady zombie rounds. I dropped a few dogs this past winter in there tracks! I did however have two run away with one or two rounds in them. (spent hours tracking them to no avail) Obviously a poor shot placement. Freezing cold, night time, tired, did I mention cold? LOL. These canines can be tough. Anyway thanks for all the good info and incite into the sport. I'm looking forward to this years season. -

Same thing here, we started out in 80 fow and before the 3rd rod was down we pulled in a 15 lb king. Then a few minuets later did another. Worked out to 170-180 did a mix bag of steelies and kings all under 20. Then the same thing happened. SHUT DOWN!! We ran out to 380 and went north to 400 + we found good temps 50-56 degrees down 45-75. so we stuck with it. There we found our biggest box of kings.(not the big big boys) but enough for the 4 fish box. We did however find a steelhead tagged from Port Credit Ontario. 8 pounder. First tagged fish we ever caught. Kind of Neat. Great job to all the organizer's, a good time for sure.
