  1. My money's going to that new boat I saw coming in for the shootout.....................The Red Sox troller.
  2. Hit the water today at 6am in search for some derby action. we set up at 100 straight off the creek and before the second rod was down the wire took off scream'n!! Yep it was that kinda morning. 18 pounder.Found good temps down 50-75 over 110-130 fow. took 4 kings within the first half hour. 14-18 lbs. NBK stingers and green pro-trolls with A-TOM-MIK's pro-am glow were the producers as well as a stinger purple gator.Every downrigger and wire took fish more that a few times. We worked out to 230 but found action in 160-180 and found good temps down 40-80 with plenty of bait and marks. Did 7 more kings in the next couple of hours. our biggest was 23lb 4 oz on the narby scale. Not enough but had to try. lol. Right at 10 am someone pulled the plug and it was done! We kept 4 for the freezer. All kings but 3 were hatched. sorry about the small pic. cell phone camera.
  3. Leadcore set ups work very well out there. we do pretty good with'em. We run 30lb power-pro backing with a full 10 color core and 30 ft of 20 lb seaguar fluorocarbon leader. Generally each color will sink 5ft.(speed and temp can change that a bit) so just let out enough to get it where you want it. Its a great down the shoot set up with a spoon. Good luck and go get-em!!
  4. Tlox, What were your coordinates on that peel off. I had the same thing there last month. Peeled me just about to the end. Cut the wire. I think we have a loch ness out there. lol.
  5. If you can, go to moore sub-troll's web site and order a "clincher" follow the directions and problem solved. you can even take the probe on and off. I see you don't want to use a clincher but they are tight and fail-safe. No crimps are needed as well.
  6. Run the fourth and consentrate on presentation, depth, ect.
  7. Took my brother and 2 of my buddys up for a weekend of fishing the Niagara bar. Fished Friday Saturday and Sunday. Good green water.Worked 100-300 fow just East of the Red can. Also worked the edge 55-230. Friday was slow they made us work hard for em but we managed a few screamers. Saturday was crazy with multipal doubles and some nice spring kings hitting the net! We could not break 22 lbs but we tried. did 12 Kings Saturday before 11am after that it slowed a bit but we took a few more. all 19-22lbs. A couple cohos and one or two lakers. Sunday was hot out the shoot! we doubled up right away with a pair of 20 and change kings on the wires. Riggers were taking there share on stingers blk/green/silver. Pro-troll's and fly's were the ticket most of the time. 265 and 285 on the wires. Riggers were parked between 50 and 120 Great weekend with some great friends. Got to spend some time with Mr.breeze and the boys as well. Added a few pics from the trip.
  8. What bout time said. Then get a spool of seaguar fluorocarbon and tie 20 foot leaders onto the main line.
  9. I run the chamberlain stackers on my stern riggers when doubling up. They work very well! Easy to set. When brought up they release as they hit the pulley and slide down for you. Very good investment.
  10. I run 50 pound seaguar fluorocarbon between dipsy and flasher. That length is 7 feet.
  11. I think Gambler just bought a few..............lol
  12. I switched over to all convectors for the riggers, copper and lead. They work great and Rob hit it right on the nose with the drags and handles. I have four 47Lc's loaded up with wire and they work great for that application as well.
  13. very cool. Thanks for posting them up Rob!
  14. Good looking spoons! Like the black eye super glow! shel take a few kings.
  15. Don't worry so much about it. On a pretty good swing just figure 10 to 15 feet less than what the line counter says. You will still catch plenty of fish. concentrate more on down temp, speed and lure color.
