  1. Had a great day with some good friends. It was nice to see all the boats active on the lake finally feels like the season is started. Normal brown program with boards n sticks plus we got a decent rigger bite with spoons. Good luck to everyone who gets out and enjoy
  2. best luck was when we wld come in and out of the mud line went 5 for 9 all browns. One brown looked like he was fresh out of the creek, the rest were nice and silver.
  3. Went out of sandy with my little guy and gave him his first lesson in playing hookie from school. There was a good mud line with temp breaks up to 40 degrees. 11 fow was our best depth set on a westerly troll. Blue n white floating rapala 75 back off the inline took the most shots. He had an absolute ball reeling in all the fish.
  4. Awsome job in saving his life. That proves what type of hero's sportsmen can be on a moments notice. Glad to have people like you on the water. sharkhunter
  5. Thanks guys I charged the bateries overnight and threw the boat togther in 2 hrs made the sign of the cross and prayed she was still good to go after our deep freeze of a winter. Your days will come soon and if could make it 5mph or less everyday i guess we wld never apprciate the calm days. Sharkhunter
  6. Went out of bear creek for an afternoon trip. Fished the 8 - 14 fow. We found a range of temp from 36 - 38 degrees by the end of the night. All sticks with natural colors worked best. Flatlined 120 back and 50 back off the walleye boards were good for us. Nice colored water and despite an east chop we boated 14 for 19. Highlight for me was the engine fired on the first turn and purred the rest of the night and I took a co worker out who never trolled or caught Ontario fish. He is hooked and will hopefully fall into the ranks like the rest of us. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Great good and thats awsome!!!!! u def defiently worked hard for those birds as the weather probaly didnt give u a break, but its sweeter when that hard work pays off. I ran over 200 miles today looking for open water from the small boat harbor( buffalo) to sandy creek every thing was socked, choked, and freaken jamed in with ice. I haven't seen it this froze in a long time. good luck and be safe sharkhunter:)

  9. Hey pap, The rod holders are reinforced with with PVC and then they are basically bolted to the mounts as they cannot take the force of a dipsey and salmon hit. U can reinforce them in various ways and they will work okay. The modified rod holders are being replaced by Bert's as we speak so in the long run it might be easier to just stick with the rachect types. Good luck
  10. I remember talking to those guys at Wilson this spring and u could tell they were a class act. Very nice to deal with and they made u feel at home on their boat. They showed me their whole rig and gave so much info it was overwhelming. Glad u got ur stuff back.
  11. Fished from the creek to the pump house. 60 down over 70 to 100 fow hot color for the day was a nuclear spin dr with green glo fly.
  12. What type of paint do u prefer for painting the outside of an alumin boat?
  13. Wow that is a great job!!!!!' Thanks for posting the progresss. I recently did the same to my older starcraft and feel ur pain and joy of the project.
  14. Glad to see u were able to get out and have a got at em. Sometimes it's nice to just get out and run the boat. Better luck next time. Trift
  15. Thanks everyone for the comments. Your days will come sooner then u think. I may have dug myself a hole as the little ones think it is boating season and they want to go now. Ive spent the week trying to explain to them that it is still very cold out thier. I will have to make it up to them when the weather breaks for good. Thanks Eli
  16. Was able to get out today on a solo trip for a couple hrs and worked on some inshore brownies. Went to bear creek and pretty much fished east side of the plant. With a NW wind it was blowing 41- 44 degree water into the cove and that was where they were stacked. Ran two flatlines at 140 back with a GFR and blue/white rapala. Prime depth was 5 to 8 fow at a 1.6 to 2.0 mph. Went 9 out 11 hits. Felt good to see the sun and smell the lake air. Here u can see a nice line of stained water that i kept working.
  17. The middle dock was in as of Wednesday. Able to grb a few hrs of fishing before the winds picked up. Fishing was good till it started to blow.
  18. Great job with your little man, he is our future in this sport. That is awesome with a bonus king. Keep up the excellent report!
  19. Hey Campi Like the name and think it is appropriate. Hope to be out thier with you guys soon too.
  20. Hi Rick , The boat and motor still run good and sees the water 10 months out of the year. The floor has gotten soft, so that will be my project for the summer with my little guy. Hope all is well with you and your family. Take Care
  21. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 9 Total Boated:6 Species Breakdown:Browns ( 2-8lbs) Hot Lure: all Trolling Speed: 2.5 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 10-18 Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Did a solo mission today out of the creek and went 6 for 9, could have easily broke double digits with a few extra hands and lures in the water as the fish were very active in the top half of the water first thing in the morning. The surface temps outside the plant were 41-44. The water clarity was a nice pea green with a distinct mud line. The first 1/2 hour kept me busy with three fish as soon as we had splash down with the lures. Then picked at the fish the rest of the time. Started out with the floating rapalas blue/silver and black/silver 125 back. Then when the sun got a little higher flatlined a small stinger spoon in purple/black 150 back with a few shots ahead and also ran a disk diver with a silver evil eye kept above the bottom. Kept two fish for the family feast and the rest went back to fight another day. Did a view of the stomachs and found that big and small gobys were their choice. Felt great to get out for bit and shake the webs out of the boat for the season.
