Well the lake was to rough for me this time of the year and the ice was still blocking the dropoff but the boat ran fine and other than losing the net on the way to the lake the shake down cruise is complete. Hopefully next weekend will bring calmer seas.

If i have to fish at the launch in the boat so be it. Need to get the boat out and make sure everything runs. Cabin fever is bad this year and the itch needs to be scratched.

Anyone else going to brave it this weekend. Always feel better when I am not the only boat out there. Going to give it a shot on Saturday. Batteries charging as we speak.

I was reading a thread on a icefishing board that stated there was open water by the channel. If this weather keeps up i am thinking it's not far behind before we can get out. The itch is really bad this year to get out on the big lake.

Anybody been out to look at the launch?

it's been tough. best bet is weed edges, but is has been cloudy and tough fishing with the rain.

I have done ok on browns in the bay. On the south end in 8-10 foot of water. Always good as a backup plan. I believe the bridge comes out on April 1st.

was out on Saturday water temp at north end was 48 at the south was around 51. Was only out for a little bit, lost a nice smallmouth on the south end with tubes. Lake was pretty rough with south winds. The docks are out at the state launch.

WHEC-TV updated 8:28 p.m. ET, Mon., Aug. 18, 2008 A jet skier, missing in Lake Ontario has been found. The Sea Breeze Fire Department and the Sheriff's Marine Unit were searching the lake earlier this afternoon. According to 911 officials, the emergency call came in around 5:15 p.m. for another jet skier that reported another jet skier missing.

That is the question. Watkins glen area. guess it is a 15 minute ride from there. really just trying to find a place I can keep a trailer for a couple of days with out an issue.

I am looking for a place to launch where I can leave a truck and trailer at. Place I am staiying is near watkins glen, but parking is pretty tight out there. Heading down on the 3rd to the 5th and need a place to launch and leave the truck and trailer. Thanks for any info.

thanks for the info. I been in some nasty storms up there in the winter, looks like the summer can be just as bad.

I caught more pike this year in the fingerlakes than I have in life. Caught them on everything that I threw. There are a couple of post in the finger lake section about the pike fishing in Seneca. They were everytwher in the shallows.
