  4. Nice job. Seems like Oneida has been crazy with the wind this year. Tried to get out twice and the wind has been real bad.
  5. seems like last 3 times i was there no wind at home and 3-4 footers there. I think the lake makes it;'s own weather.
  6. Can you fish off it? Could get a bunch of down riggers on it.
  7. water temp was 66 a couple weeks ago. weeds were just starting to grow. lake will be high and dirty. watch for stuff in the water.
  8. i have never had an issue with it before. Caught many a Pike on a crank bait and many perch on a small senko. If you are site fishing for them on the beds that may be an isssue.
  9. Are snows good to eat? Never shot one before. Do you cook them the same way you do for normal geese?
  10. That picture makes me sad. I thought for sure it would have been open again.
  11. I went up Tuesday and it was open almost to the last channel markers. Buddy went up Wednesday during the day and he said it looked like the ice from the bay was blown over. It has also been cold at night so may have some skim ice in there as well.
  12. Only thing i could think of is they missed real bad. I just don't understand how things like this happen. Let alone when someone gets shot during bow season.
  13. WEST SPARTA, N.Y. -- The state's Department of Environmental Conservation is investigating the shooting of two horses by hunters over the weekend in Livingston County. The DEC said coyote hunters on Moore Road in West Sparta shot the two animals Saturday night. One of the horses died. The second is being treated for its injuries. According to the agency, the two hunters are licensed and had permission to hunt on that land. Horses are big creatures.

    Ibay Perch

    Giant smallmouth as well there.
  15. I was out in Erie a couple weeks ago. People were tubing in the harbor. Place was a zoo. It is a tough place for kids as it is big fish and low quantity unless you have incite where the perch might be. If you are talking dragging tubes on the bottom, follow the boats is my best suggestion. With little kids stick close to harbor or in the harbor. We got out butt kicked out in the lake with 4-5 foot waves.
  16. try http://nybass.com/ there are a lot of shore guys on there. Someone may offer a ride as well.
  17. here is the article with boat description and a picture of the man that is lost. http://www.niagara-gazette.com/local/x2117396255/SEARCH-Boater-missing-on-Lake-Ontario
  18. Fine line between brave and stupid. It was great to be on the water. If you get out keep an eye out on the water for ice and trees. Pending weather will give it a shot this weekend.
  19. Went for a quick shakedown trip with a buddy last night. One side of the launch was wide open, the other side had a big piece of ice in it that should be gone soon. Still a lot of ice on the bay. There is a half a dock in which made launching easier. Boat started on the second crank and we were fishing by 5:45. Made a pass down to shipbuilders. ! foot chop when we started turned to 2-3 pretty quick. There is a lot of ice in the water and the shore ice is 10 feet thick. NW blew the ice back into shore. Water temp is around 33 degrees. Went 1/1 in 1.5 hours of fishing. Little brown about 18 inches. By the time we made it back the starboard side was pretty icy. Good to be back out and begin the season.
  20. I am going to give it a shot at IBAY tonight will post tomorrow AM.

  22. How was the fishing out there today?
  23. Watch out for Ice and garbage in the water. With all the water getting pushed out the river and creeks it can make for an adventure. Good luck.
