  1. At our camp we soaked the plywood with used motor oil and they stopped eating it. Not pretty, but effective. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Ha ha , I did that once and the raccoons came about a week later and had a picnic. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Launched my 16 footer there on Monday. Launch was fine all the docs in , water down 1.5 ft from the top of the dock. Fishing was unsuccessful my depth finder didn't work and couldn't get anything on top lines. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  6. Hey guys , ConGraduations to the successful hunters. we're all on this site because we love deer hunting. We should be congratulating and celebrating a large buck taken. Most Deerhunters wont get a deer like that in a lifetime. Schmucks like me spend hours in the stand freezing hoping to see a buck. I don't wear a watch when I'm hunting , when I can't see to count 3 points on one side it's time to quit. As I get older it gets earlier and earlier . In PA we have to count three points on one side. I usually shoot first buck legal buck that comes along because too many years I passed on the small guys got skunked. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. Oops I hit the send button. I just upgraded to the PA traditions accelerator 50 Cal with Williams fiber optic sites.. killed quite a few deer after Christmas with the 54 patch and ball. My eyes begged for the fiber-optic sites so I upgraded. Can't wait to try it. Plan on using SST 250 grain Sabots but I haven't tried it yet. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. I hunted 30 years of the Thompson center renegade 54 patch and ball Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. I read this blog but have never posted. I must admit, it's my favorite read. Thanks for the info and entertainment .I hunt with a cva and use power belts with 2 50 grain pellets. (The kit came with power belts and I always used them )They group well at 75 yards (my personal limit). I have fired at five deer all of them went less than 50 yards. They do seem to shatter but they are lethal. Never tried any other bullets. I found the copper foil on the exit hole on the last one. Based on what i've read here ,maybe I better try some of the others. I live in PA, have a camp in New York, and hunted both rifle openers. I hunted with a Marlin 336 3030. I just love the feel of that gun. I am not an expert hunter and usually shoot first legal buck comes along because many years I passed on the little guys and got skunked. My family likes venison. This year I got a pair of six pointers (and doe with the CVA in the PA muzzleloader) and I'm now looking forward to the New York muzzleloader season, and PA flintlock after Christmas. I just retired and have more time. Have a great rest of the hunting season, and great holiday. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. 35" caught on a yellow perch shad rap deep diver near weed line Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  11. Fished Chautauqua and muskies for the first time. After 6 hours, of trolling, caught a 35 incher on a perch shad rap 100ft back. It's fine and swimming again . Will post a pic if I figure out how.
  12. How about a Goby hitting a Jplug, happened right at the mouth. I didnot know Goby's got this big, the only ones Ive seen were either puked up on the boat floor by browns Bass and pike in the spring and they were only as long as the Jplug. Also caught a bass and a walleye in the river , but no salmon.
  13. My grandaughter caught a mess of panfish at Wellesley island (St. Lawerence River)this summer and wanted to eat them. I was filleting them and the Perch and Small mouths were fine, but the Rock Bass had small pink larva imbedded in the fillets so I threw them out. Didnt want those larva in my fillets.
