  1. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Fished out of the bay 85 to 270fow with only one skipper king on a 300 copper. Started to get bumpy so picked up and ran back into 100 fow with a few other boats working the area. Put down the hamerheads and picked up 12 lakers in the next 1 1/2 hours biggest 9lbs. Marked a lot of bait and hooks in the 85-100fow off of webster park. Bill
  2. Will be out sunday morning, sitting on ch 9. Thanks for the report and starting point. Bill Boat ALYDA
  3. Fished the same water east of the bay. Boated 16, mostly wire bites. Fished btw.100 and 200 fow. 60-80 on riggers, wires out 200ft. Mostly lakers last night with a few bows, skipper kings and one brown. Fleas are getting worse by the day on the riggers and the ankle biters were out in force. Bill
  4. Just drove by the lake and it looks like a go for this afternoon. This is my first agternoon trip this year. I'll let you know if the fish are still in that area. Bill
  5. Last time out was the 17th just creamed them. Just 2 of us out so we ran 2 wire divers and 2 riggers. Moonshine carbon 14 on the 70 ft rigger took 9 fish a lot of steelies and a couple teenage kings. East of webster park seems best btw 120-200fow. Spinnys on wires and spoons on riggers. The fleas are getting bad so clean spoons with out cheaters are less of a hasssel but I would check them every 30 min. Ended up 22 for 27 that day. Only fished til 11am. Hope this wind doesn't F it up. Fishing again Fri afternoon. Bill
  6. Brian, congrats on the steelhead. I have finally put your lake trout program together down east and put a 20th place laker on the board yesterday. My young boys were not interested in staying out to top it. Bill
  7. Any tips for tuning this unit. Second year with it. Not marking cannonballs. Tilted the transducer back this spring but still don't see the balls. Just wondering if they are blowing back further than the cone. only using 10# balls. I would think I would at least see them as I am lowering or raising them. Any info would help. Bill
  8. Fished yesterday and today out of the bay. Did pretty well yesterday in the 150-200ft range more towards Hedges. 14fish sunday 7 fish Monday. All mag spoons. Gators took most of the hits today. Running wires out 350 with riggers from 120-150 down. Temp is way down. Not marking anything and most of the fish are small nothing over 10#. If your trailering I would try Braddocks or Sandy. Bill
  9. Anyone try these? The ad looks pretty good. Just purchased 2 online. Took some big kings on cut bait over the years but haven't run it in the past 2 years. Wondering if anyone has had success on these.
  10. I talked to a buddy tonight and we're thinking next sunday night. What size hooks, and spikes for bait? Your right I googled it and youtube and it looks like a blast. I mostly fish perch but, my season has been pretty slow so far. Fished I-bay again today with alot of slush on the ice and only 6 dinks in a couple hours.
  11. Do you catch them at all during the day? I've been reading the posts and thought about trying it.

I probably went past you guys this morning in the Grady thinking I could get out for some browns. My father just doesn't have sea legs anymore. The lake was probably at 3to4 footers. It didn't look that bad as I drove by Duran. Anyways picked up some fatheads and headed down to the markers in the whaler. Not much happening. Bounced around to some other spots and only managed 4 keepers which went back b4 the rain around 12pm. Good luck. Bill
  13. I've used them. they are very durable. I'm not sure if your going to see a great improvement in fixed blade broadhead flight. I personally like the blazer veins. Now I see they also offer them in blazers. The question is do you want to get into arrow building or try something new. I got into arrow building because, I wasn't satisfied with arrows built at an archery shop or from one of the larger sporting goods shops. Fletching and nocks falling off. I'm not going to point out what businesses, but if you build your own arrows there is no one to blame but yourself if you have a malfunction in the woods. This gave me a lot of piece of mind, knowing what I built is going through a deer. Arrow building is fun, and I would say it is a very quality product if your just starting off or don't have a jig. I've never had any of the fletching come off and their very easy to use. Probably killed 6 deer with them with no issues. Good luck Bill

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): ============== Set up in 120fow heading out towards the river. Picked up a 15#king on 42nd spinny and fly 260 on wire. Picked up another 8# king on the same setup. No other releases. Heavy rain at times but calm seas. 15. Not much to report. Went out this afternoon, set up in 50 fow worked out to 140 then back into 50fow. Blank screen the whole way. Only inspiration was good colored water within 65fow. Ran an assortment, looking for kings or steel. Might have been a better idea to stay inside. Skunked, but beats yard work. Bill
  16. I fished out of the bay also today. Picked up 2 browns right in front. Worked out to 50fow to take look, blank screen. Headed back towards shippbuilders for a quick pass and found nothing but clear water. I guess that's why most of the boats out today trolled the beach back towards genny. Bill
  17. When it comes to tracking deer, I agree on letting them sit as long as possible on marginal hits. I mostly hunt public land, and wanted to tell about a 8pt my nephew shot last week. This is his first year deer hunting, he called me to tell me he hit a nice buck but he wasn't sure where he hit it. We gave the deer a little more than an hour before I started the search. The arrow showed good blood, dark probably liver with some bubbles, maybe 1 lung. We eased our way through open hardwoods trying to spot it while we fallowed the blood trail. The deer went farther than I would have thought, but I was confident we would recover it. I finally tracked it down and realized something was wrong. The whole stomach was hanging out of the deer. Upon further inspection I noticed a lot of hair on the ground near the hind quarters. The buck was chewed up though the hind quarters all the way to the tail bone. We recovered the buck 2 hours after the shot and the coyotes, already had it. I believe they actually chased the deer an extra 100yds, before catching it by the sign of the blood trail. This happened in letchworth park. I have probably lost about 6 deer over the years letting them lay up over night and finding the carcass all chewed up the next morning. I just have never seen dogs on a carcass that soon after a shot. Letchworth is only open to spring gobbler and deer season, all other game is off limits. Bill
  18. I just read a report of a possibly 2nd place salmon taked on an evening trip with not enough time to weigh it in. I know it is in the rules but, It just is not right that, that salmon could not be weighed in the next day, I mostly fish evening trips and alot of the fish are caught in that last half hour of light. We Took a steelhead off braddocks on fathers day that would have been a 2nd place fish, the fish hit at 8:30pm. I would Gladly sacrifice a couple ounces a fish would loose over night if I could weigh it in the next day. Just my 2 cents Bill.
  19. How deep are you fishing for lakers. I usually target kings but was wondering if there is a laker program down by I-Bay. Thanks Bill
  20. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== Set up in 100fow and worked out to 200 b4 checking rigs. Popped the first rigger set at 70ft with 3 colors of lead dragging a 4#bow. Shortly after wire fires at 260ft 42nd spinny and fly 10# king. Then 20min later a skipper on a purple thunder. No big boys tonight but some good friends had there first encounter salmon fishing. Had many good reports of fish being caught btw 500-600range. Just to far of a ride for a couple hours. Hopefully out this weekend. 21. I was out there tonight and wished I had the same kind of report. Started in 100fow 68 down temp almost to the bottom. Worked out to 240fow temp got better after 150fow about 125ft of cable out. No releases til the end of the night 3#bow in 120fow down 80ft on metallic glow frog, in 68 degree water. What rigs were working for you and how deep. The only marks I saw on the graph were in 170fow. Had riggers parked btw 100 and 125 and wires out 280 and 300. Changed one wire set up near the end of the night but, left the 42nd spinny in the water the whole night. Thanks, Bill
  22. I fished out of I-bay tues the 5th sw wind up to 25mph pushed us up past hedges. One dead release off the rigger, also fished 6-9pm. Was out saturday morning with my two young son's late morning worked from 110 to 200 and turned around, got back into 120 at about 12pm and marked a big fish down 70ft moments later the rigger fires and King on rippping line like a freight train. Handed my father the rod and cleared one wire. Then the second wire starts ripping Held it for a few minutes then hand it over to my 7yr old. Him and papa fought the fish great while I cleared the last 2 lines. Boated both of the with the 7 and 4year old taking turns reeling in the wire. Had to keep both of them so the boys could show there mother. 22 and 20#. Was hoping for some of the same action on tuesday, wound up empty handed. Bill
  23. (Your Name) : Fishing Report ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): (fishing date here) Time on Water: (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) Temp/Weather: (85°F and sunny, overcast, rain, snow) Wind Speed/Direction: (NW at 8 MPH) Waves: (1-2 Footers, Calm) Surface Temp: (72°F) Location: (fishing location) LAT/LONG: (GPS Cords) =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: (0, 5 10, etc.) Total Boated: (0, 5, 10, etc.) Species Breakdown: (3 Kings, 2 Bows, 1 Brown, 5 Lake Trout) Hot Lure: (NK28, White Spindoctor with Green A-TOM-MIC Fly) Trolling Speed: (2.1 mph) Down Speed: (1.8 mph) Boat Depth: (200 ft) Lure Depth: (80 ft) ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS =================== Started out in front of the bay in 120 fow, worked out to 180 when first fish hits the wire out 280 42ndspinny hammer fly, 8lb king, as I'm trying to net him he gets tangled in a rigger line so I pop It and it's dragging a 3lb coho. Get both fish released and are barely moving with the waves and the last wire rod in the water fires with a 15lb king, white double crush glow spinny with hammer fly. Got the three lines reset and just b4 9:00pm the 42spinny fires again with 11lb king. Got that in the boat and packed up. West wind pushed me up past hedges. Good luck Bill.
  24. Thanks for the report, going to try to get out tomorrow night. IF your out there give me a call Whaler, Usually have the radio on scan. 18ft boston whaler. Thanks Bill
  25. Started out in front of the bay in 115fow worked out to 230 before the first hit. Out fishing with my wife and two boys 7 and 4 years old. First fish hit wire out 300ft on 2.5 setting pulling a white double crush glow spinny and mariage fly. Both boys helped battle the king witch I thought was bigger 7lb. turned around and put out another wire with same spinny but with a green edge and hammer fly, almost to the same waypoint and hammered the second and last king of the night, my best this year on the scale btw 19 and 20lbs. everyone in the boat took turns fighting it while I cleared lines covered in fleas. Hit the last fish at 7:30pm. The Kids had enough by then and were super excited to see that big king in the boat. We had a NE wind out there with 1to2ft waves, nice salmon chop, but a little nerve racking with two young boys. Hopefully we have a good summer program setting up, the fish are out pretty far though. No down speed or temp, SOG 2.4-3.0. Watch out there two new salmon fisherchildren on the lake. Bill ==================== (add pictures and any other details not captured above here)
