  2. You got a a 2D and downscan transducer the 50/200 is the regular 2D transducer and habitually the 50/200 is use in deep water; deep water meaning +300ft. The 50 is a larger cone and the 200 use a narrower cone. The 455/800 is for downscan. The 800 is to be use in shallower water. Those frequencies are excellent to identified what is under the boat, it's mainly to identifie bottom and structure. You can also see the baits but the fish are going to be small dots on the screen. With the Elite you can split the screen in 3 so you can use Downscan,2D in 50 and 200kHz.
  3. The new Elite5 CHIRP and the Elite7 Broadband are in you're price range http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Fishfinder-Chartplotter/Elite-7-Broadband-en-us.aspx http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Fishfinder-Chartplotter/Elite-5-CHIRP-en-us.aspx

  5. Sure! Just to get the interface between the HDS Touch worth the try
  6. Same as the Simrad. Navico owns Simrad & Lowrance I'm using Lowrance since 1975 and never had any problem. Many mooving parts?: a pump and a box (computer) 2 wires for the power+ & - and a NMEA 2000 connection I run 2 Raymarien AP and didn't like them (not easy to set-up) and the last one couldn't be use for trolling nelow 2mph and when I call Ray they say that's the way it works.
  7. For my part I'm going with the new hydraulic AP from Lowrance. The integration through the 2000 NMEA will make the installation easy. The other complain when we are talking about AP is the slow trolling problem; the ap workd in conjunction with the gps and the gps need some speed to work properly but with the Lowrance Point-1 (Point-1 is a electronic and also a compass antenna) that will give a better operation at slow speed.
  8. There is 2 Kingfisher dealers in the province of Quebec and the way it goes now the US $ is almost 20% over the Can.$
  9. The margin for the retailers is very thin on that kind of stuff, so I don't see any selling that way less then another. If so, be careful it may not going smoothly specially over the internet.

  16. In the same class of Hewscraft there is the Kingfisher (Harbercraft) and it's build in Canada in the province of British Columbia (west coast). The fact that it is a Canadian made boat and the value of the Canadian $$ vs the US $ the price could be lower then you think. http://www.kingfisherboats.com/
  17. More and more are using the Navionics app on theire phone or tablets but there is a function that is not use or not known and it is the Community Edit. What it is? Because a picture worth a thousand words, look at this video:
