  1. Hey Chris & Brian, Great fish! I wish I knew you were coming up, I would have went out for the day to see you. Later Chaz

I also made it out for the last few hours of the day, used someone's holes, didn't feel like dragging the auger through 2 feet of slush! I did manage 6 nice keepers and 2 huge largemouths. I wasn't expecting to see them on the end of the rod. I was going to go this morning but with the foot of water on top of the ice and the foot of slush on top of that, I decided to wait it out.

Did about 20 nice keepers on Monday and only 6 on Tuesday, not too good for a 8 hour day. Everyone I talked to at the south end said the same thing. Ice was between 14 and 18 inches though, but now it looks very slushy now after last nights snow. Good Luck Chaz
  4. Hey Chad, I was out in front of Grassy point a few times this past week and the ice is between 5 and 8 inches thick. Nice walking now that the 2 feet of snow is gone! I've talked to several guys as they come the Bay an they all say the same thing... fishing is real slow. Alot of dinks but very few keepers at least in our area. Good Luck Chaz
  5. Just walked in off the ice, and yes there is about 24 inches of snow still on the bay. There also is a few inches of slush on top of the 5 to 6 inches of ice off of Grassy Point. I only fished an hour with no hits and from the guys I ask coming off the ice, it has been slim pickens. Good Luck
  6. Bottom Feeder, I will have to call my buddy tonight and find out and let you know. Thanks Chaz
  7. Looking for a Digi-Troll body with rod holder. A friend broke the rod holder off at housing and would like to replace it and I believe he would need the whole housing. Downrigger does not have too be working since is works fine. Thanks
  8. Try Bayshore Vacaction Cottage Rentals @ 315-587-4773. Bill and Joann have 2 cottages on Sodus Bay, with private docks and the places are spotless. We stayed there for 3 years before buying a place of our own. Chaz
  9. gal, I just installed a 9.9 kicker on my 21' W/A a few weekes ago using the Garelick mount and it was a piece of cake. Two buddies helped and it only took about two hours from start to finish. Just follow directions closly and you should be fine. I also bought an EZ-Steer to connect my main outboard to my kicker and that works great also. My kicker has made a big difference on my wallet, we fished for about 10 hours last weekend and used less than 3 gallons of gas in the kicker. I wish I would have done it last year. Good Luck Chaz
  10. Way to go Chris! That's a slammer! Brian I got your message the other night, let me know when your going back up to fish and we will have you over for a few cold ones in Sodus. Chaz
  11. Nick, It was nice to meet you and your wife on Saturday. That was an awesome cooler of fish and congrats on coming in 4th in the Derby. I don't know what to say about my buddy Jack or O-fer, he must have been having one of those days, very unusual for a guy that lands all those big fish by himself. Chaz
  12. There is an EZ-steer for sale for $ 75.00 in the "Selling" section. I think it is for an outboard to outboard up to 29" center to center. It didn't fit my application or I would have bought it, but just ordered one from EZ-Steer today. Chaz
  13. Thanks Guys! I did have a nice day, well if we caught some fish it would have be better, but got some time on the water with my youngest daughter. Thanks Chaz
  14. Thanks Brian, I was thinking about giving you a call also, but it was non-stop all weekend. We only fished the mornings, 5 til 11. It was the best fishing I've had up there in a long time. Looking forward to more this weekend, taking my electrician up for a few days, so hopefully it will continue. Give me a call if you come up, we will be there Thursday thru Sunday morning. CHaz
  15. FIshed Friday & Saturday with Capt. Jack on the "Echo One". Friday we went 4 for 5 with one dropped at back of boat. 2 nice steelheads over 31" long, threw one small salmon back. Saturday went 3 for 3, 2 steelheads and one salmon. Sunday we took my boat the "Indecisive" out for the first time this year and slimmed the deck with 4 fish. Great weekend on the water. Chaz
  16. Name: Chaz Gambino Boat Name: INDECISIVE - My kids named her because they got tired of boat shopping and I couldn't make up my mind. Boat Make: 21 ft. Sea Boss Home Port: Sodus Bay Years Fishing: 4 years in between building house on the bay.
  17. Nick, I was just at a boater safey course this past weekend and the same subject came up. The CG aux. said that if a boat was used for more than 60 days in another state it should be registered in that state. I am in the same situation as you, we have a house on Sodus, but the boat is registered in PA. We keep our boat in the lift all season and for the past 4 years have not any problems with the Sheriff or CG, except for saftey checks coming thru the shoot. Good Luck with the new boat! Chaz
  18. Fished Saturday morning for a few hours in front of "Grassy Point" and caught 30 or so keepers and a ton of dinks. Ice was 12 to 14 inches thick even after the warm up. Good Luck Chaz "Indecisive"
