The way this year has been going I'd try just about anything - maybe a name change is in order
-
Any luck Ed? I got out around 4pm went over to Long Point and trolled south to about the Showboat. Marked quite a bit but couldn't get anything to go. Went back over to the east side south of Lodi a couple miles and marked nothing from 80 - 250'. Haven't been doing much of anything here this year - thinking I might head to Cayuga again in the morning.

Splash down at 5:45 this morning from Lodi. Headed north on the east side and fought the weeds for 2 hours - ugh! Went over to the West side at Long Point and marked all kinds of fish and bait. Finally hit a nice little 20" Landlock which came into the boat without much struggle so he went back to live another day and get bigger for next time. Then the fleas got bad - had to pull the lines every 15 min to clear or they would get jammed up. Finally got tired of that and headed all the way to the north end. Within 20 minutes I had 3 lakers in the boat. The 1st one was easy 8-9 pounder off the rigger set @ 45' without much struggle so I released him with the pliers right next to the boat. The 2nd one came off the other rigger set @ 80' and put up quite a struggle. By the time I got him netted and in the livewell he was too spent to revive so guess what's for dinner? The 3rd one came off the slide diver set back 210 and was in the 3-4 lb range. He was also in good shape so released to find someone else's net someday. The north end is definitely holding lots more fish this year for some reason. I'll try to add a few snapshots of the Lowrance from my phone. All in all a beautiful day. Fishin solo can be pretty tricky but managed to only have 2 missed releases today and pretty sure 1 of those was just weeds.

Ouch!! Where did that happen Ed?

I'll second the "like the live report". Can't wait to get back up there this afternoon and give it a go in the am. Anyone else going out tomorrow or Saturday? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Glad to hear that someone is at least finding a few. I trolled all the way from Lodi to 2 miles north of Sampson yesterday on the east side only catching one dink salmon and a small laker about 1/2 mile north of Sampson. Setup on the west side this morning around 7 a little south of the Showboat and headed north. Trolled up the west side well beyond long point from 40' to 200+' and never moved a rod. Turned around and headed back south well past Severn, then crossed the lake to give the east side a go and same story! NADA!! 9&1/2 hours (a new record for me on this lake without a fish). I told ERABBIT today we're changing the name from Seneca to the "Dead Sea". Next week, headed to the St. Lawrence to jig for a few pike - something's gotta change.

Trolled the west side for 3 1/2 hours this morning - caught lots of weeds and headed in for lunch. With the heavy rain headed this way for the afternoon might sit it out at camp for the rest of the day

Have the little woman with me today so won't be on the water real early , thanks for the info Nick. Hope to be out there soon! Rick

Wow! Busy day. Sounds like the lakers have finally woken up

Sounds like a pretty good morning! Hoping to find a few before the rains bring in a new batch of debris over the weekend. Could use a little busier day than it's been all spring.

Yes, that was me and I remember seeing your trophy. I was all over the lake on Saturday looking for anything promising. The one landlock we boated was just north of Sampson though didn't mark much of anything there in the usual spots. Saw lots of bait on the west side but not much of anything on the east side.

Granted the weather has been wacky, to say the least and lots of debris, but I've been fishing this lake for over 20 years and can't believe how tough it is this year! For certain, the worst I've experienced. One small landlock and one avg. laker yesterday ( 6+ hours on the lake), and one landlock today after 5 hours not moving a rod. We'll be into fleas and weeds in another couple weeks and never even saw a "spring bite". Sorry for the rant, just getting frustrated, looking for insights, ideas, or suggestions on what's going on with the fish or what to try next. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Did you go out this morning Ed? And I was hoping it would get a bit better by Friday this week but doesn't sound that way!
