  2. Stan once again nice fish and photos of the west. Where are all the other boats? It looks as if you have the lake to yourself. Sincerely, Georged
  3. Check Cabelas bargin basement on their website they have many on sale now
  4. Nitro: It sounds like a good idea. A great warm-up prior to the season opener in NY. Have you ever tried Cassadaga lake by Fredonia NY? Georged
  5. I'll be on the northend. No radio though. I'll be solo, so I'll most likely be pulling copper. Can't miss me in my orange 1972 14' vintage starcraft runabout. Georged
  6. Great catch nitro. Troutmaster45 and I were suppose to join you and Bob on Waneta yesterday, but I had a wheel bearing go on my towing vehicle Thursday and could not get it repaired in time. I wish I could get my hands on a tuff shad lure they seem to be hot. Sincerely Georged
  7. Sean what depth of water are you finding the lakers now? I noticed on Canandaigua Lake the fish also have moved more south from where I had been catching them. Georged
  8. Thats great! I used to catch them on the Erie canal years ago. I believe they used to fill the canal with some water from Lake Erie. I used to see many caught in the Greece NY area. I actually caught one in the canal a 6-7 lber this spring. I am glad to see they are still in there and growing. george
  9. Most stores are selling multi stranded copper line I am looking for single strand. I checked most of the local shops and they all seem to be out. Thanks for trying. George
  10. I am looking for a 600 ft spool of single strand fishing line. Sincerely, Georged
  11. Sean you have been red hot lately. I am sure your clients appreciate it. Great fishing. Thanks for the photos and info on fishing. Georged
  12. We visited Waneta as Muskie rookies this year. We got 2 bites the first time trolling flatlines and landed a 30" fish. We trolled around 3MPH but some go faster 4-5 mph. One bit on an older rapala deep diving 3.5" crankbait and the other on a rapala super shad rap. Most of the fish we saw were deep so we brought the downriggers next time we also casted the shallower waters and got skunked. Next time out we landed a 32" fish 17' down in 29FOW. Tried trolling 2 more times and got skunked, but casted for a nice 18" smallmouth on a top water plug. Most of the fish we see on the fish finder are deeper but my friend who lives there catches them trolling flat lines regularly. Good Luck, Georged
  13. Great Job! Those lakers are huge. I have yet to try the flasher fly combo. I've caught quite few lakers this week on the north end. Lost the largest one today 15 ft from the boat. Lots of weeds on the north end thats where the wind blew them. Sincerely, Georged
  14. The fish in troutmaster45 post was successfully released after the photo was taken. I'd like to catch him again when he's twice as big. Sincerely, Georged
  15. Blue Ghost: I am not so sure what you mean by the shelf, but I have been fishing the break form shallow to 60 -70FOW and have been having pretty good results. Where is the shelf? Georged
  16. We fished the northend 7-8pm, pulled copper and went 3 for 4 on lakers 60-70FOW using a 38 sutton. 2 average size and 1 dink. Georged
  17. Great job Sean sounds like you had a day to remember. Did you get any photos of those large lakers. Did the same fishing pattern work on both lakes? Sincerely, Georged
  18. I pulled copper on the north end this morning from 6:15 - 9:15. I went 6 for 7 on the day. The largest being a 6 lber. The rest were all standard 19-20 inchers. I used a Sutton heavy 38. The top speed was 1.0 - 1.50. Sincerely, Georged
  19. I got out for a couple of hours. Being alone I decided to pull copper due to the wind. I went 1 for 2 the fish I lost seemed to be a good one I had him almost to the top before he shoke off. The other was a 3 lber. Great night to be on the lake. I marked alot of suspended fish at 35 in 60 - 70 of water. One positive thing no fleas on the copper. Sincerely, Georged
  20. That brown is great catch. I noticed the fleas were also bad on sunday on the northend. I like your showing the fly and flasher setup you were successful. Thanks. I'll have to try some flies / spin doctors some time. Sincerely, George D'Amato
  21. I fished the north end this morning for a few of hours. I tried seth green for about an hour unsuccessfully then I pulled copper. I caught 4 lakers on 5 trolls across the lake. All average size. I was off by 10. Sincerely, Georged
  22. Fished the north end for a couple hours mid morning boated 2 lakers of average size on Suttom 44s. I spoke with a guy at the launch who said a kid on their boat landed a 14 LB Brown on 7-4-09 fishing the north end. WOW what a fish I wish I could have seen it. Georged
  23. My son and I took our third trip to the Seneca river for a carp outing this season. Were still trying to break the 20 and 30 lb mark. A beautiful day at the river. Great fun on medium / light tackle. We went 5 for 8 on the day the largest being 15 & 16 lbs. It's a great break from the busy Sundays on Canandaigua lake with all the recreational boaters & jet skis. Georged
  24. I started at 7am on the northend. It was overcast with a slight chop. Decided to start with the seth green rig. I used the downriggers for an hour the night before with no action. I set up in 60 FOW using sutton 44s and a Great lakes 44. Within 5 minutes the rod almost jumped out of the holder and the drag was zipping. I adjusted the drag and a fight was on. I removed the top leader and held it in my hand. When I tried to remove the second leader both of them tangled on the main line. I then had to pull in the last 30 ft of the main line by hand. The fish came to the top and I could see spots, a huge Brown. I brought it to the net, weighted and measured it, I took some photos with my phone and released it to fight again. This was my first and only brown from Canandaigua lake in 3 years. It was 9 1/2 LBs 27 inches. I went 1 for 3 for the morning, but still a great day. I have been marking a lot of fish, but no takers. Georged
