Selling my father's boat Unfortunately, my father passed away last fall and I need to unload his boat. We used to go up to Oswego the week before Labor Day for the past 15 years. He always looked forward to it. I don't have time to use or maintain the boat right now and would like to see it go to someone who will use it. Here is the listing on Craigslist: https://nh.craigslist.org/boa/6243144240.html I would be willing to work with someone to meet that part way or to work with getting the boat inspected. It's a solid boat and setup for the Big O. If you are interested, let me know. Thanks, -Eric T -
You may laugh, but our best luck is running the fly 18" from the flasher and then running the flasher 3-5 feet from the ball. We used to run them 10-15 ft off the ball, but our numbers doubled after we put them in tight Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Come in from northern NH- 7-8 hour drive.... Longest travel time was from Stockholm Sweden..... Left there at 11am Stockholm time- landed in boston at 5pm. Headed to my father's house and loaded up my stuff- hit the road at 10pm. We were on that water at 6am the following morning. I was dragging that day to say the least.

LJ, Head out to front door and then west... We got a 34lb king last week right out front and a 31lb king heading far west. The only trip we got skunked on the whole week last week was heading east towards the nuke plant... Definitely tailed off towards the end of the week with the wind shift... But keep your head up- the 30+ lber's are out there. We got our 34lb'er on thursday and our friends got the LOC #1 fish - 35lb 15oz friday morning.... All I have to say is find the fly called "The Sheep". It did all our damage.....and 122ft was the magic number for us

Billy, I was out on the big O out of Oswego the last week of August after snapping my femur in a hockey accident in June a couple of years ago. I got released from the rehab hospital the middle of July after getting injured in June. (2 surgeries to rebuild my knee and put a nail in the center of my femur) It was about 2 months after my injury- I still had the brace on my leg and couldn't walk without crutches. I just stood on one leg and wedged my bad leg/hip into the back corner of the boat and reeled away... Landed my first 30lb+ king that trip. So it can be done... Vicodin and celebrex will make you feel like a champ. -Eric.. Everyone still laughs at the pic of me holding the fish in front of the boat with my crutches in the background.

Best distance of the riggers?
eturc replied to FT's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
8-12 feet max... We limited out on kings 4 out of 7 days last year that we were up on the big O. Most of them were on the dipsy- but the riggers usually we set them pretty short to the ball. -
Setting up a wire rod
eturc replied to Just Ducky's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Just Ducky, I setup the wire with no backing right to the spool. I use 30# http://cgi.ebay.com/MALIN-7-STRAND-30-1 ... 230828fc03 The 1000' helps out on the bigger fish- heavy as hell though. But with the dipsies- we are running 250' to 350' out from the boat... Change out your rod tip... the twilly tips available at most of the shops on the lake. The wire will cut through the guide on the tip of the rod in 100'. -
Oh man.... I really need to change out the 20lb test on my rigger rods.... I snapped off 2 fish last year. Time to go to 30-40lb test - damn...
