  1. Balls of steel? Really? Are those fish really worth losing a life over? I don't want to piss anybody off here but when are people gonna learn this lake does not play well with others. I know its hard if you only can fish on weekends but get a boat big enough for the conditions or fish on days the wave report is favorable. If you push your luck on this lake you will get bit. Just hate reading all too often about people fishing here with 17 ft boats in 4 or 5 ft waves. And believe me the weather report can be misleading so be prepared. Please be safe everyone.
  2. Nice job. Sure beats working doesn't it!
  3. He's holding the lead up with his left hand behind the flasher. Lead is probably around 4 ft long. Makes the flasher look upside down. Congrats on your day yesterday p3434.
  4. Its not a short lead or upside down flasher.....look again.
  5. Nice job! Where do you launch your boat from?
  6. Great job guys! Its not who ya know...its what ya know.
  7. Enjoy the day and learn something. Then it will be a successful trip.
  8. That's a great looking fish, congrats!
  9. Excellent job and thanks for the post.
  10. Is the mexico launch open yet? thanks.
  11. I've got a CVA wolf. In my opinion you don't need to spend any more. Very good gun. Sent from my LG-D725 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I fished sat in the selkirk/salmon river area with no luck. Sunday we got one small male king(12 lbs) for our efforts but it was a beautiful day to be on the lake. Fished again monday and got one real nice male king (25 lbs). We marked a few fish on sat, less on sun, and almost none on monday. We tried depths of 30 - 70ft. Also ran out to 120 once just looking but nothing out there that looked like salmon. We didn't fish real hard around 5 hrs. each day and in the middle of the day due to travel. I think it's over for this year, I'm done till 2010. Had a good time good luck to all.
  13. Sounds to me like you should lighten up a little on your drags. Just a suggestion but I never have any problems with bent hooks. I only fish two rods though and stop when I hook up. This does two things, makes for no tangles even on tight turns and greatly increases the landed per hooked ratio. To each his own. Good luck fishing.
  14. Is there any cut bait available this year in the Mexico or Port Ontario area? Thanks ahead for the info.
  15. I haven't been up to the big lake in a couple of years. We usually make the annual trip around labor day or shortly after. I don't see any post on using cut bait or "meat" as it was called. I called a sport shop last week and they said because of the bait ban, the old standby in the blue box wasn't available but they had some kind of perch cut bait. Has anybody had any experience with this or is it a waste of money. I'm coming up for a few days next week and would appreciate any input. Thanks.
