  1. Nice fishing rick. Good to see the kings are hitting everywhere finally. I thought I heard dec say they are not clipping anymore? I even think the nose tags are out. Natural reproduction can account for between 20 and 60% of the Kings, depending on the year... At least that is roughly the estimate I remember hearing? 2. Nicely done! Never made it out that far, as there were a few inside and the south wind was kickin out butts... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. We got a short am in today before the storms hit. We set up at 5:45 in 100 fow and pointed her north. With only 3 rods in, the 100 rigger popped and we were into a good king. That fish came from about 110 fow and went maybe 16 lbs on a mag seasick waddler. the screen looked fantastic from 110-140, and we worked that water north to south all morning, fighting the strong south wind and stupid current. We would end up taking 3 more shots- another nice king on a 200 dipsey with green dot spinny, a small king on a small glow stinger on a slider and a brown on a mag crab face. We packed it in at 9 to avoid the storms and got in just in time. Temp was perfect- 50 down 75 feet. Most shots came 70-100 down. A decent short day all things considered. 5. Good work nick! I worked the same water a few miles east of you. Beautiful screens today huh? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. After the big blow we weren't sure what to expect, so at 5:30 we started at about 50 feet of water on a Northwest troll. The water was super warm in there, so we continued north until we got to about 140 feet of water. The screen lit up pretty good there, and we continued to work roughly 140-200 fow. We had a pretty good pick of varying age class salmon up to 18 pounds and one steelhead. They were hitting a combination of bag mag glow spoons and bright colored spin doctors. Our best action was between Lake Bluff and Chimney bluff, with the sweet spot at about 180-200 feet. Most of hits came 70-90 on the riggers and 250-280 dipseys. 7. Unbelievably, today was my first day of the season. We left the dock 5:30 and headed to brown trout waters. We set up in 30 fow off the old lighthouse on a west troll, and immediately encountered incredible thick and annoying seaweed. Screens looked good 30-50 and we caught a nice brown, but after about 45 minutes of dealing with that stuff I had all I could take, so I pointed north. Once we crossed 100 fow the screen lit up from 30-60 down. We put a spread of riggers with sliders 30-55 down and 8-10 color cores, mostly with glow ss size spoons. We had a great pick mostly right out front, and our honey hole was 120 fow. We ended up catching a beautiful class of steelhead, as well as a skippy king, skippy coho, and a pretty Atlantic. I tried my damnedest to catch a laker to complete the grand slam, but no takers. We finished up at 10 for a productive short day. And even better, the boat ran great! More to come soon hopefully! 10. I've also had very good luck with 8'6 medium light ugly sticks, and those can also handle a king... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Hey guys, I am bringing my boat out to the oak earlier this year- mid May to mid June. What can I expect for fishing there? I assume steel and coho on top and browns if I want, but I am more interested in the salmon. I hear they are a much bigger part of the fishery in the earlier months than they are in sodus... Is it a mid depth bite(100-200) or usually a more off shore bite? I know it is tourney time, and I don't need super specific info, just general ideas as I have literally have never fished there before July 28th.... 12. Bump, now that the season is coming. New price 4900. Comes with a trailer
  13. The price is negotiable, I will consider any reasonable offer!
  14. This is a good starter boat, or great for someone who wants to fish for relatively cheap. And it doesn't have a dog house in the back!
  15. For what it is worth, the boat has 1600 hours. And I would be more than happy to help winterized it. Also, I have a frame and a newer tarp to cover it for the winter
  16. Hey guys. I am finally going to move up in size (27 footer) and will be selling my current boat. She is a 24 foot four winns with a cuddy cabin. She has a 260 hp mercruiser, which I have maintained with the help of a very well respected marine mechanic. In the last few years I have rebuilt the carbs, changed the thermostat and put in a new impeller, changed the seals in the outboard... The seal should be good for at least 3 more years. She has fresh bottom paint and I just waxed her for the third time this year. She has an enclose head with a new porta potty. In the last 2 years I have invested 1200 in canvas for the boat. She had a brand new mooring cover and a Bimini with clear side curtains that covers 3 sides, all built by John Mann in sodus. Her hull is very deep and she is extremely sea worthy. I have fished in 3-5 easily during pro ams. She idles down nicely and I can easily troll at 1.5 for lakers if needed without a bag. She has 2 props which have both been rebuilt. Tr gas mileage is great, and I averaged about 10 gallons for a full day. I may regret this actually, because she is very cheap to operate, but I want a bit more room so I can take 4-5 people..,. I am asking 4900, and the trailer is included. Pm me if interested.
  17. I changed nothing at all, they all the sudden just stayed on. Weirdest day I've had in a long time. My rigs have worked every other day this year (season success rate close to 85%) so I didn't stray too far from what I know.... Reel intense- nice to finally know who Becky has been talking about!
  18. FINALLY got back out fishing for the first time in a month, for my first real crack at kings. We started in 170 fow out front on a gentle ne troll. Once outside of 200, we started to see a lot of stuff 90-110 down, and I had an equal mix of flasher/fly and mag spoons down there. We would have no trouble getting hits, but proceeded to miss our first 7 fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't keep them stupid bastards stuck. I had hits on spoons, flasher with double single hooks, flashers with a single and a treble hook, and a meat rig. So by 10 am we had nothing...., Thankfully, we found a nice pod of fish in 300-350 fow that finally cooperated, and we would go on to boat 5 fish, a mix of nice kings to 25 lbs and a few steelies. By far our best rig was a pro chip with a tourney fly, down 110 on the rigger, which was parked in 50 degree water. A mag seasick waddles took 2 shots, and cutbait took a few shots as well. A frustrating morning that was saved by a nice mid morning bite. One more trip Labor Day and then I am on to perch.... Here are the 2 nice kings
  19. I'm out near you nick. Finally boated a nice steelie on a 110 rigger. We are 1 for 8.... Can't keep em stuck to save my life. 90-110 down, 270-310 dipseys all taking hits
