  1. 2 Shakespeare tidewater 30l reels on pinnacle 8'6 down rigger rods, they are older but work good $120 obo 2 vintage Diawa sealine reels on pinnacle power tip pro 8'6 rigger rods. 1 has a 10 color leadcore with braid backer and the other is braid and mono $160 obo
  2. Yup I cancelled, it wasn't worth it with the forecast
  3. Will do, our tentative plan is to leave for the lake when the storms hit here since it's about a 40 minute drive for me pulling the boat. After the initial front rolls through they're saying it's supposed to get warm and sunny with a chance of a late afternoon storm
  4. Thanks duke, I'm kind of nervous as this will be their first time on the boat. If you have any tips or tricks to share I have open ears. My initial plan was to drop them low and deep dragging bottom with cowbells and gambler rigs, it has been deadly for us this year on Ontario
  5. My friend and myself were thinking of bring our girls out tomorrow to catch some fish (age 5+6) but I'm not to sure about the weather. I have a 22' islander so from a safety standpoint I'm sure we would be safe but I was seeking advice from someone who fishes this lake enough to know if tomorrow's forecast of 15-20 mph south west winds would be too much to make this an enjoyable experience for them
  6. I haven't lost one yet, sometimes it takes 10 minutes but it's worth it to see them go back to the bottom
  7. It's been a toss up between crystallina and lake trout killer, definitely go 1.5 that's been my best speed
  8. I've been fishing out of sandy all year and got one over 20# every trip using cowbells and gambler rigs trolled at 1.5 mph, but it comes at a price though because I've never caught any other species going that slow
  9. I have one on my islander and use it when my kicker can't keep up with the wind or waves, works good for me when I need it
  10. I was out there Saturday also on a white islander with a white Bimini top, big fish for us was a 19# laker with a few 15+16s then a couple around 10. We headed straight north first thing and picked up a 5# king at 80fow down 30 then on the way back south we got a 10# king at 280fow down 40
  11. Who's doing the weigh station in Rochester? Mitchell's? Also I looked on your website and couldn't find the sign up
  12. I'm guessing they are not, the bird makes the lowrance go all loopy and give bad depth readings
  13. Is there anyway I can run my lowrance and hummingbird at the same time on my boat? Neither one is fancy but I'd like to be able to use the bird at the stern for setting down riggers
  14. I think a 20# minimum is a great idea, will there be a laker division for the first tournament
  15. I catch 90% of my csnandaigua Lakers on cowbells with gambler rigs
  16. Why wouldn't you have a lake trout category they are way more popular to fish for then Browns or steelhead
  17. I would probably enter if you put a laker division instead of browns
  18. Check out the okuma pre rigged combos they have at all the box stores,
