Been at it pretty hard lately seen lots of does passed a few bucks up biggest probably a 110 or so. Found some fresh scrapes on saturday, so I moved a cam to watch it and saw some decent bucks activity fighting or playing right in front of cam! But been after 2 dif bucks on a different piece and got daylight pics yesterday of 1 of them and actually saw him tonight. He ate some acorns then bedded down about 100 yds from me for awhile, then got back up and fed away. Was too loud to try a stalk and have a few days left didnt want to spook him. fingers crossed. hes a dandy. Heres the pics of the bucks playing/fighting. Been pretty slow for me. Jumped a good buck walking in the other day. (With my bow) and passed a few small bucks. One decent 8 point. And a bunch of does, but still grinding hoping to fill that 2nd tag! One of our trail cameras got messed up. Not sure how yet... But it managed to take a pretty cool picture none the less! Went and managed to fill a doe tag for one of the land owners that I hunt on their property. And my 1st kill with my savage 220. (Had it 3 yrs no, passed up many deer just never pulled the trigger? On my way out I saw some pretty good buck sign since I had been there last. May have to get a camera in there. Other spots were seeing some does and a few smaller bucks. Congrats rob! I Found out a buck i passed up, got shot by the neighbor, darn!! And one more buck i had close 3 times has been mia for a couple weeks now. So I decided to hunt another property that I've been getting some nice bucks on camera in the last few days. i have had 3 encounters with good bucks so far, but being bow only i have not sealed the deal yet on one. Got a few weeks left so I will Keep trying to out smart em! My ole man used my 10mm and managed to put an old swamp donkey doe down with it. Going to have her teeth aged, she literally has gaps where there are no teeth left and others worn right down to the gum line. Curious how old she is!! Plenty of penetration! When u track, go slow with another arrow knocked. just incase you spot him alive and can get another one in him. Track quietly as you can. (I see snow on radar if your close to where its going may want to give that an option into how long you wait it can hide blood on the ground) but. I think you will find a dead deer pretty quick! My. Clover plots have still been getting hit good. My sorghum plot has not we need to get a camera on it. But we have sat it a couple times and i saw one buck eat off them, but overall they have been just going around it. Well see if they hit it a bit more late season if not try something else next year. I have been getting my man cave organized, deer heads, fish and birds hung up on my new deer wall and re doing the upstairs bathroom. A buck i passed up 2 weeks ago now showed himself in the rain this morning. So im getting my cousin in my stand i passed this buck out of hoping he gets a shot at him tonight! awesome congrats! we went last year got 2 bulls public land diy. will be going back next year! a lot of fun and a LOT of walking, but you get to see some beautiful sights!
