Opening morning I didn’t hear a gobble on a roost I’ve been scouting but did have a hen come in. Day two I went to another roost I scouted and again no birds but I did hear some gobbling and moved on them but no response. Third day I do some run and gun and heard nothing early. Went back to original blind and had a pair answering but the moved off. Last night I roosted a couple and set up this morning. Ended up killing one after it flew down and walked to my decoys. I just called Canadian Customs and was told you can travel by boat from NU side of the river to fish Canadian waters if you don’t anchor or touch land. This is very confusing with conflicting information. Likely couldn’t get in trouble as Customs said you could do it but I think I’ll pass this weekend. I feel blessed that have 3 properties I can hunt. Two are exclusive and the third may have a few other hunters. That gives me access to over 1200 acres of good habitat. While scouting this morning, I had a Tom gobbling on the roost and watched him fly down with 3 hens. They never knew I was there and came within 50 yards with no calling. After they wondered off undisturbed, I made a brush blind and it is ready for first good morning after Friday’s opener. I also have another roost located with gobbling toms there as well. I’m fortunate to have this access and have become good friend with the owners. I try to treat them right and keep them supplied with fish and other goodies. I also give one some money for compensation. In addition I stop and chat with them frequently and have know two for over 40 years!/ Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I’ve tried contacting Canadian officials without success. I know travel for recreation is listed as non essential so likely you can’t cross border to fish. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Does anyone know if you can launch a boat in the US and fish on the Canadian side if you don’t anchor , raft , touch shore and maintain social distancing. I’m thinking no as it would be considered recreational and nonessential. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
