2 birds were gobbling across the field from me and others roosted in trees so I didn't get to my blind. Eventually had 9 birds in the field and a tom walked 10 feet from my empty blind with two more gobbling in the woods behind him. They eventually moved out with hens so decided to leave them undisturbed for tomorrow morning and move to different blind. On my way to the car I walked right up on four birds and shot one right near my car. I'll be in that blind in the morning! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

This is great! Interesting to see how far they can travel. I agree with Prof T, wish they would do similar study on the SLR. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
Mixed bag today

The Browns were slower today only hit 6 that we had to work for but we made up for it with a laker, 3 walleyes, and a northern. Some alewives and gobies in their stomachs. Spoons and sticks off boards and riggers in 10-15 fow. Found one small area of colored water that produced for us. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

Well, I had two Toms sneak in silent and took me by surprise. I guess they didn't like my strutting decoy as they started putting and moving. I must have rushed my shot as they both flew off unscathed. A thorough search found no indication of a hit. Now my wife is one up on me.[emoji22] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Saturday morning 8 of us fished Quinte in 4 boats in the morning and caught no walleyes. Many boats out and we only saw one fish netted. Afternoon bite improved somewhat but still only landed 8-10 eyes. What a difference Sunday morning! 8 man limit of 32 fish by noon and most 17-22 inches. Mr Walleye caught one 11.11 which we released. Went from famine to feast overnight. Most were caught in 28-35fow on worm/ spinner bottom bouncing. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I've had one of my best springs ever on Browns. Fished Mexico about 5 days and Stony Creek 3 days. Limits most days with some small Atlantics and nice lakers in the mix. Mostly fishing 7-12 fow early and moving out to 15-20 fow later. Mix of sticks and spoons off boards and shallow set riggers. I would say don't be afraid to move if it's not happening. Stay out of cold clear water and move till you find good color and temp. Morning bit is often shallower and slide out if bite slows. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Had them Gobbling on the roost. After fly down toms were strutting at 75 yards. Two hens came to 30 but Tom eventually moved off. Raining so I made a move to my pop up and saw the flock about 200 yards off. They eventually moved off so I made a couple blind adjustments for tomorrow. A Good morning as I got to watch a great show and even saw 6 deer. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Scouted this morning. Had a couple gobbling in roost. Backed out and observed from a distance. 8 hens, a Jake and a tom flew out into the field. I snuck off and never did see the noisy gobblers. Will be there tomorrow! It figures they're in a field without a pop up blind so looks like I may get wet.[emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Fished south of Stony this morning. Steady pick off boards and riggers. Spoons and sticks Chartreuse/ silver early, black/ silver later in the morning. Boated 16 Browns, 2 lakers and released a nice walleye and a small Atlantic. 7 -12 fow early and 14 -20 later. Riggers set at 7 feet. Another boat caught a nice King! We caught 4 nice eyes we released in two trips this week while fishing Browns in the Henderson area. All were caught on spoons in 7-18 fow. We caught some numerous beautiful Browns and a couple lakers off boards and riggers on spoons and stick baits but was surprised by the walleyes. Trolling speed was 1.8- 2.2. Probably should target them where we hit them but will be at Bay Of Quinte with buddies for the opener. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Which inline planners

I have 4 Offshore or12 which work great. Saw a deal for Cabela's brand and picked up a pair for under $10! They have a different release which doesn't work great in extreme cold but can easily be switched out. Seem to run comparable to the Offshore and I believe are a great deal! Not sure what the price on them is now. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
