  2. Hunting Land Lease Wanted! Hey guys, I am looking for a lease spot on a property hopefully within an hour of Rochester. I want to get this done early so I can have time to prep and scout, etc. I am 26 but I have been hunting for 10 years and I am EXTREMELY conscientious of my hunting practices. I don't do drives, I am strict on scent control and I do not shoot immature deer. I adhere to every landowner regulation and would be more than happy to text the landowner as I come and go. I am a very serious hunter and I also show the utmost respect for every landowner wish. If you would like to sit down and get to know me, then I would be happy to grab a cup of coffee and chat. I am am looking for something fairly reliable from season to season so can I get patterns down and chase the big boys. Please text/call me me if you have something available and we can work out details. 585-943-33zerofive Thank you for the consideration! Isaac
  3. Welp, got a pig in 115 FOW off of sandy. Great fight on 10 lb braid. Was a great 4th of July.
  4. Just an FYI I am not going to use the bags for trolling, just drifting. Allows me to cover deep bass structure more methodically without flying past it due to the Lake O Current.
  5. I have seen the effectiveness of the actual bags so I am looking to go that route.
  6. Hey guys, I am looking to grab at least two drift socks. They need to be medium or large size. Something that will really slow down a free drift on Lake O's wind and current. Please let me know what you have. Text 5eight5-943-zero78four or PM. I am in the Rochester area. Thanks!
  7. Well boys, it all came together this morning. After struggling mightly to figure out where to park myself opening morning, I finally decided to get in my nasty, thick stand is just surrounded by dense brush. This stand borders on the sanctuary for the does but is not quite there, more of a real safe way to travel when the deer need to get to the sanctuary. Well the day started at 7:00 AM with a small four going right under my stand. I flipped him the bird (for getting me all excited), and then watched him prance off (probably to his death at the hands of a less discriminating shooter). Then all was silent until 8:00 when I heard a lot of deer coming my way. Well it was a parade of mature doe and yearlings, eleven to be exact, and they were headed right to the safety zone. After ten minutes they pass me and then start to spook. I know they didn't wind me, and then I see three more does headed out in front me doing a concerned trot. Now these three does spook the other eleven and they all move off together. Well now I have seen 15 deer and opening morning is getting pretty exciting. Then less then three minutes later, I hear a very slow steady crunch crunch crunch. Well I can't see the deer that well, but I do know that it's coming my way. As I keep peering in, I notice the sunlight gleaming off antlers and I lose total control of my arms. This buck is massive. He heads right for me and I have one thought, "holy mother of god". Well I pull my gun up and just put the scope out in my shooting lane and wait. Five minutes go by and he just browses into my clear as day lane, neat as neat, broadside at thirty freakin yards. Well I settle my arms, take a breath and lay the crosshairs of my savage muzzleloader right behind the shoulder. The shot is perfect and the deer drops in 10 yards. My euphoria was out of control, I just sat in my stand and smiled and laughed like a crazy person. As I walked up to the buck, I could not have been more jubilant. 8:20 AM on opening morning and I had shot my personal best buck and had the best morning hunt of my life. God, I love the outdoors. Enjoy the pics!

    Sold / Closed Sold

I would drive but the gas cost would offset the rod cost, if you can find a way to meet me closer, I would buy the rod. I am in Rochester.

Interested in the float rod. Where are you located?
  10. Great post Pete and it was great to get out with you! Still can't believe you went and jigged up a unicorn while I was on board!
  11. Nice rigs guys! And to those worried, I will make sure the boat is deep and wide. Not interested in sinking anytime soon.
  12. Hey guys, Any of you troll the Big O in your 14 ft aluminum boats? Reason I ask is I am downsizing from my bass boat to a 14 footer while I save up for something nicer. Thing is I would still like to get after spring browns and some standard trolling (weather permitting of course). So I guess I am asking how you guys rig up the boat and how your setup looks. Initially I am thinking two wire dipsy rods and a lead core down the shoot. In the spring probably two inline planers and a split shot line. Course I would need to figure out rod holder placement. Pics of your rigs are definitely welcome!
  13. Hey justinttracytrolling I totally agree. I can't tell you guys how many times I've tried to get information about walleye fishing in the Rochester area. I always politely ask and and I am a reasonably knowledgeable fishermen so it's not like people are giving tips to a complete newbie. It has always seemed like getting information out of the walleye guys around Rochester is like trying to squeeze water out of a rock. Walleye fishermen make steelhead fishermen seem loose lipped by comparison. I would certainly be interested in any tips or tricks regarding casting for walleye around the Rochester area. I would be especially interested in information around edible walleye as I'm not interested in catching any from the Genesee River as those are not edible. I live in Brockport so even information regarding the oatka, black creek, conesus, or the canal would be more than welcome. Personal message me if you'd like to share any tips or tricks!
  14. Ha I would take you up on that but I gotta find a place to shoot
  15. Up for sale is my 17' 1989 Smokercraft Bass/ Walleye Boat. This is a phenomenal boat that has put me on a ton of fish. I really don't want to sell the boat, but mounting house remodel costs are forcing the sale. This boat handles rough water extremely well and has provided a safe, dry, platform even in Lake Ontario 3-4 footers. I have re carpeted the boat within the last three years and all floors are bone dry as well as rock solid. The boat has ALWAYS been stored inside. The boat comes equipped with a MotorGuide Brute 67 trolling motor with a brand new foot pedal and Cable steering. This motor is not a the usual old crap you see on used boats. It is a power house that moves the boat quickly. There are two nice batteries that are wired in parallel to provide you with all day power. There is also a kicker plate on the back of the boat to accommodate up to a 9.9 HP kicker motor for Walleye trolling. I have installed a brand new live well pump on the boat and the bilge pump works great. The 88 HP 1989 Evinrude on the back runs 100% PERFECT when run at ANY speed beyond no wake speed. At no wake speeds or idle, the motor will run fine for two to three min and then start to sputter. A simple pump of the fuel bulb gets the motor back up to speed and running fine. This points to a possible issue with a pinhole in the internal fuel line or diaphragm on the fuel pump. Both easy and cheap fixes for less than $100. I have never made the fix because the issue has really never affected me that much. I run the boat all the time and she runs MINT and frankly I am never just puttering along. I only include this info in the name of full disclosure for the new prospective buyer. The trailer is totally functional and working with a newly wired light system and buddy bearings. Please feel free to give your best offer. All offers will be considered. I will accept cash or I can also accept a debit payment via my Paypal Card Swipe App on my iphone, No Scammers and No Low Ballers Please! If you want yourself a great fishing machine for a reasonable price, contact me to setup a visit. I can be reached by email at [email protected] and by phone at 585-nine4three-07eight4.
  16. That's interesting. Went out tonight around the perimeter of my property and did some hard cutting. Tried to put some birds to bed and got nada in return. Guess I am hoping for the best in the AM. I hope this lack of gobbling thing is just related to the low pressure system and they are just sneaking around quietly.
  17. That sucks about your population decline. I know the turkey populations near me are fine, I just worry that the birds have moved on. I am sure it's just a bad morning though and things will pick up. Sounds like I may need to do some preemptive predator hunting though, so as to avoid the situation you described.
  18. Hey guys, My dad owns 84 acres just outside of Brockport and for the last 5 years it has been something of a turkey Mecca. I am not super experienced but I hold my own in the turkey world. For the last four years we have put down trophy birds and have had to try hardly at all to get them to gobble and come running. However I did notice last year that the gobbling was sparser and the turkey seemed much quiter in general. They also moved off of the traditional roost site. I thought nothing of it due to the mild winter we had. Lo and behold I get out there at 5:15 this morning and moved all around the property until 9:30. Didn't hear one peep out of a bird and didn't find any roosting sign. All I found were a few tracks and some droppings. Is it possible that the birds moved off of the property? Am I missing something? How could such a turkey rich environment go from tons of birds to hardly any sign at all? Help!
