  1. I have a set of the 12lb "Sharks" along with 1 20lb "shark" I dont know if they make any difference or not. I know I normally catch fish when I am using them, so they dont seem to scare the fish away! As for the cost, they are spendy, Fat Nancy's has them in stock, and there isnt a slug of difference between a 12lb or a 20lb price wise. But spending a hundred bucks for one weight seems a bit much. LIKE I said I have them, I like the way they track, and I have the chrome ones, so I feel like I have an additional flasher down there helping to attract fish. I doubt it works like that, but I feel better...... and they seem to produce fish, normally 20-35lb Kings to be more precise.
  2. Ok, my Father in law is flying in. I plan to pick him up at the airport at around noon, and head somewhere to go fishing. I was out on Ontario last weekend, beautiful day, no fish, doesnt look like 7' seas are where I am headed to fish, so I am looking at the finger lakes. I would love to get into some browns. I have never been browns fishing before, as I am a military guy from out west. Anyway, I have a boat, and I think I have enough tackle. Just need to get some advice as to where to go, where to launch, and any other tips you are willing to bestow upon me. I appreciate any and all recommendations. Ones that include what the browns are hitting on in the recommended body of water are even better. Thanks! Ed
  3. I didnt see or receive a respons, my offer was your 2 masts for my 1 Berts dual mast? Ed
  4. get a piece of aluminum, cut it with a box saw to size, use some JB weld with a piece of round stock aluminum, mount the aluminum tube to the flat stock aluminum base and whoolah, you have a cheap rod holder that will probably be better and cheaper than the $30+ you will have to spend on a professional one... I had one welded to my arch, however you could also look for a berts rod holder, and that way you can use it also as a rod holder later. Good luck..

  20. I havent actually met Gene, I received his information through another guy that had some of his flies. I called Gene, placed an order, and he mailed them out to me. I have spoke with him on the phone a couple of times. Really nice guy. I think with the quality of his flies he could be selling them to a shop, however I really like being able to go direct to the source. His CC#2 is a HOT fly, as are the perch flies, and the all black ones.
  21. I found mine on ebay. I got it for $400.00 and am having 12 rocket launchers welded on along with the base plates for $200.00 and I feel as though I have got a heck of a deal. If you can find one on ebay, check out uship.com for shipping quotes. I got mine shipped from Indiana to Syracuse for $100.00 (part of the $400). You just gotta be patient. also try craigslist for several cities, and expand out for as far as you would be willing to drive. Florida Craigslists seem to have a lot more of them pop up than anywhere else. I searched for nearly a year. Good luck
  22. I have been out there the last 4 weekends on Sundays. I can tell you that my boat has done the following 11 OCT 2 fishermen on board, 4 poles, 4 inline planer boards 10 rainbows by 12 noon. Ranged from 2lbs 2oz to 5lbs 3oz mostly 3lb range (over 70-90' of water) 16 OCT 3 fishermen on bard, 6 poles, 4 inline planer boards, 2 downriggers (20' down) 11 Rainbows similar to previous week in size (over 70'-90' of water) 25 OCT 2 fishermen, 4 poles all inline planers, 3 Rainbows (40-120' of water) 1 NOV 3 fishermen on board, 6 poles, 4 off of Otterboats, 2 flatlines 9 Rainbows, 3 Atlantics (all 15 1/4") 1 perch!? (12' - 60' water) We were trolling 2.4-3.2 MPH on the graph. Lures ranged from Sticks, Jointed Rapalla's, a couple spoons and some flies tied by Gene Karb. Gene Karb's flies have been HOT, although on 1 Nov Rapalas and Sticks were HOT. Fishing on 1 Nov was slow early morning, and got better as the day progressed into the noon timeframe. We were on the lake from 5am to 2:45pm, with most fish being caught between 10:30 am and 2pm. Most hits were double hitters (two poles at same time) or real close together hits. Boats name is "Bobber Down" Will be out on Sunday 8 Nov as well, provided all goes well. PM me if you need a more detailed fishing report. By the way, this is my first post on here, seems to be a good forum.
