We've gone out when it was 2' predicted only to find 5'era at the pier head. I recommend using common sense. If it looks dangerous it probably is. Boat size wont matter if you capsize. Its not just boat size its also experience. Typically though if they took the time to put out a warning that's a good day to sleep in. Just my opinion though...I could be wrong.... I use 8lb p line as a main line. easier than tying seperate shot lines, you can adjust depth easier. its not difficult to see imo. have not had any issues with it.

What boat did you end up going with Bob? I was on a charter with you earlier in may and you seemed on the fence about stepping up to a larger boat. Anyone looking for a boat this size should really look at this rig, it is a salmons' nightmare.
