  1. These I made several years back and they pull like a mule. Each board was like 21" long. (orange ones) Never had them flip. But don't use them anymore as I went to otter boats a couple years ago.
  2. Used rubber bands and shower curtain hooks for years. Simple, effective, and cheap. I have the small wood clothes pins drilled out and attached to the shower curtain hook. Never had a problem with the line tangling in it.
  3. I too hate peeling paint off brand new lures. A few years ago I tried the Flintstone spoons with the tough gloss finish. I have to say they are the best at paint retention. This pic is a few of my favorites that I routinely run for 3 - 4 years and as you can see very little paint loss.
  4. Selling 25 used Red Eye spoons. Top left 5 spoon are glow in the dark. They are 3 3/4" long. $60 shipped to US only. Thanks
  5. Well Gio, you know who I am........we bought flies from you and you did not send what what we had ordered from you. Then you refused to remedy the situation but instead went into a tirade of cursing and name calling. So yes, I worry about what I buy from people and I am sure others would not like to endure the same. An informed shopper is a happy shopper. As a seller you are responsible to send the correct items people order and in the event of an error correct the situation. It would have been a lot better had you just admitted your mistake and resolved the problem.
  6. Hey Jerry, ya think people may know that you changed your name on here so nobody knew you went by Catch22 ?? Hopefully anyone that bought from you got what they expected and not a bad deal like you did us!!

  8. Buyer beware of this seller...... http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/index.php/topic/36664-grand-slam-bucktail-flies/ Looks like either Catch22 is using someone else to sell his wares or just started a new name to skirt all his bad publicity on previous a sale. He has refused to correct the problem with the sale, if you call with a problem he will call you assorted names in an attempt to demean you and then send private messages of most unprofessional style. Buy at own risk!!!
  9. Catch22 you may just as well publish your unprofessional messages in open forums for all to see instead of sending them in messages to me. Snide comments concerning my wife has nothing to do with your refusal to resolve a problem that you refuse to correct.
  10. Buyers beware......you may not get what you paid for. http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/index.php/topic/34949-g-flys/ http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/index.php/topic/35609-g-flys/ http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/index.php/topic/34557-0-and-00-dodgers/
  11. You may want to check these guys out. http://www.fishonsports.com/ I picked up a pair of the double deck mounts and a pair of the pedestal mounts. Well made, sturdy, and don't break the bank in price. They do lay down flat for running dipsys.
  12. I find that the most important thing is to check the way your bait runs over the side of the rail vs the speed you choose to troll,,,especially body baits as they can get out of tune even after only 1 fish on it. Make sure they are running true. Some body baits run better faster, some slower. If you are mixing spoons and body baits make sure they both are running satisfactorily. Heavy spoons run poorly at slow speeds and light spoons spin out at faster speeds, and most body baits have a preferred speed range. If you are running different brands/styles of body baits it is especially important to check their action to make sure all of them can run in your spread at the same time.
  13. May want to check out Standard Horizon for a chartplotter. The joystick with cursor makes it super quick to scroll around the screen not only to mark locations but for distances to the desired destination. I have mine hooked up to my Matrix AIS radio and it displays ships and boats on the plotter and when my buddy sends me position request his boat also appears on my plotter and I know exactly how far away he is from me. Plus the unit has a 3 year warrant to boot. Hard to beat it. This is a pic of the plotter with a ship traveling on the upbound shipping lane. It is the triangle with the extended line for direction. You will note the cursor in the top right of the screen and the info box on bottom left shows that the cursor is 4.7 miles from my boat position. The cursor and info box only display when you use the joystick so otherwise the screen is free from clutter.
  14. Won't be disappointed???? Really.... We were disappointed that we did not receive the flies we expected...and even further disappointed when I was finally able to contact you and you proceeded to call me names and cuss at me. If you didn't like the bad review I gave you then you should have taken care of the problem. Refusing to do anything until I removed the post only demonstrated that you are more concerned in not losing other sales than taking care of the ones you made. Hopefully nobody else receives the similar "disappointment".
  15. Be wary of this seller. Had a bad experience with this seller as the items received were not what we had asked for and member would not return calls or messages to remedy the situation. Buyer beware.
  16. I too have had very successful deals on this site, either selling or buying and this was the first issue I have had. I will continue to purchase items from here as there are some great people here and strive to make sure what they sell is what they advertised.
  17. The answer to that question is no. No phone calls answered nor received, no messages through this site either. Obviously he refuses to make any attempt to take care of this issue. APB - the flies we received from him were not in any tubes or anything else. The ones we received were just tossed in a mailing envelope and shipped out. We will not buy from him again, although we got the # of flies we asked for they were not the patterns we asked for.
  18. What are they you ask?? Gabu is what they are know as using a technique called Bobbing, vertical jigging in the deep water. This is a mainstay tactic used especially in the western side of Michigan s Upper Peninsula. They are coated wire line hand rigs used in Lk Superior for lake trout in deep water. We are talking water as deep as 225' +. The setup: Motor out to area where there is a steep drop off or a good drop from a reef. Drop anchor. Attach a piece of belly fat, smelt, or herring to the jig and drop down to bottom. Determining bottom with the jig is the hardest part for beginners. When you snap the jig off the bottom you will feel a distinct thud of the jig slapping the bottom. Usually a rapid vertical snap 2 -3 feet is preferred. Now the fun begins. Usually the lakers will strike quite aggressively and it is just a matter of hand fighting them. When fish strikes, drop gabu to floor and using one hand like a rod and the other to bring the line in laying it in a pile on the boat floor. Big lake trout can give a great battle. Once landed be sure to keep the fish out of the pile of wire or you may be done for the day. Unhooked and in the box, just rebait, toss the jig back in the water and let the wire play back out. Repeat. This sure is a lot of fun. This method would probably work well in any lake that has good trout populations and deep water.
  19. Wire divers are a great presentation and a blast to fish with. I run Okuma Convector 45d on a Shimano TDR rod with twilli tip, 1000' of Mason wire with power pro backing. I had these set up at a local bait shop for under $180 ea. Sure you can spend a lot more getting a top of the line reel and big buck roller rods but a similar set up to what I described will get you in the game and give you years of service without breaking the bank. Some days these are my hottest rods on the boat and nothing better than fighting a big king on wire, you can feel em blink their eyes.
  20. It has been a week now since my buddy has called and left messages and still no response from you. You have not answered my private message to you or even responded to the above posting. HONEST people will attempt to remedy a problem and you on the other hand have made no effort. Errors can happen and can be rectified but it is apparent that all you want is someones money and not deliver the product that you advertised. In my book I call that type of behavior thieving. One thing for certain we will not purchase any further items that you post for sale and hopefully no other people will be conned by you. It's a damn shame that on on a sportsman's site that things like this would happen but it only goes to show that not everyone is here to better the reputation of a sportsman.
  21. Catch 22, I showed my buddy this post and we decided to go together and order some flies from you. He called you and you stated you had all colors available on G-FLY site so he put together and order list with fly name and number and sent along with payment. Flies arrived stuffed in the envelope in the pic along with the sheet he had sent with the flies we desired. The flies received did not match the order in some cases color wise or quantity wise and one doesn't even look a G-FLY. He has called and left you a message several times and you have yet to return the call nor have you responded to my private message to you concerning this matter but I notice that you did read message. It would be nice if we could straighten this matter out. I have purchased and sold several items on this site and never had a problem with any of those transactions or products. Would like to resolve this matter on the flies. Please call Randy back at the number I left you in the message or message me back so we can resolve this. Thank you.
  22. The best setup I use for them is the big Abe&Al Fender silver finish and a 1" or 3/4" Wardens Wobble Glow (peanut) in Luminous Spot color. Keep it at a speed that the fender just kicks side to side but doesn't rotate all the way over. Close to the bottom.......killer.
  23. I think you will like the Multi-Mates. I have a stickbait box with the lure dividers and the spoon box without. Both styles are great boxes. If you hang your spoons on both sides of the sheet you can certainly put a pile of spoons in it. I have almost 400 in one box alone. Much better than the soft tackle bags I was using. Of course my spoons are all single siwash hooks, wouldn't want to double up with trebles.
  24. Not that it affects our laws in Michigan which allow such practices, but Mortigan cited a reference above, are they not too gamefish?? I looked through NY game laws too but seen nowhere that it was illegal to use "gamefish" parts as bait. Would be interesting to hear the truth in the matter for those that would like to try it.
