  1. Mark, Count me in. I'll be keeping my boat at Seneca lake state park but I'll head over for the weigh in. If you want I can just give you the money for the Seneca/Cayuga league on that day also. Thanks, Paul.
  2. I have 4 of the fully adjustable Tite-lok rod holders with bases. Bought these new last month from Cabelas. Eliminating the board going across my aft beam so no use for these. All four for $100. ( the 4 holders across the board) Thanks, Paul.
  3. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):5/8 Time on Water:8:3-2 Weather/Temp:nice Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 1' Surface Temp: 47-54 Location:east then west LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 4 Total Boated:3 Species Breakdown:Browns/Coho Hot Lure: j-9 Trolling Speed: 2.5-3 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 6-12 Lure Depth: 3-5 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Wanted to take my wife out today for the first tme on the new boat. Started a little late and decided to head east. Bit of a slow start but as we were nearing Port Bay we took 3 hits and boated a Coho and a fair Brown. Just as soon as I got the J-9 in the water it took off screaming. Unfortunately my wife dropped that one. Washed lures for the next hour and ran west of Maxwell and as my wife slept we picked up an 8lb brown.
  4. Does anyone know roughly how old big jon riggers with solid 4ft one peice stainless booms would be? I bought a set of captains pak in '93 and they had multiple peice 4ft booms. I'm assuming these are older? any help would be appreciated, Paul.
  5. Well I don't feel so bad now. Spent several hours out in the same area with very similiar results. After over 4hrs of trolling we took one hit and lost what looked like a small salmon. Another hour of fishing produced a decent smallmouth.
  6. Launched out of Sampson today a little before 8 and fished till Noon. Dodged alot of debris and even an entire tree on the west side. Fishing was overall good and the west side had heavily stained water from shore out to over 200fow. Went 12 for 12 with our best fish just hitting the ten lb mark. Everything on sd/flies today. Ran lots of spoons and cranks without a touch. Hardly any evidence of lampray hits on our fish today. Only caught one fish less than 100feet down. Kept some fish for an out of town relative and my son was good enough to pose with a few after he got of the bus.
  7. I would be willing to fish on Team Seneca. Just want to make sure that i'm understanding the rules correctly. If I already have a trip planned on one of the dates on Cayuga the fish I catch on that date will still count towards team Seneca's total? Lil Jake, If you want to PM me with where the payment needs to go I'm in. Paul
  8. I stuck pretty much to a Northbound troll. Really tough to maintain a speed in that wind but most of our hits came 1.5-1.9 sog. Slower seemed better.
  9. Weather forcast was spot on today. Made commitments to fish the Avon Anglers trout derby so there was no backing out. Fish were biting but they were few and far between. Marked more bait on the lake than I think i've ever seen this time of year! Washed out on spoons but started takin some hits on flasher/flies. Last hit of the day was just enough to give us a second place finish before we were blown off the lake. The three we kept were stuffed with alewives. No hits less than 100ft down and green/glow seemed to be best. Can't wait to get back out on a nicer day!
  10. My son and I fished more or less the same area with a similiar settup and had fair results. We pulled 3 Lakers on deep spoons and nothing on the lead cor. We headed up north of Severne point and pulled a few more on the deep spoons. We were on the North end last Wednesday evening for 2 hours and Boated over twelve and 9 were on sd's and flies. North wind on Wednesday and Southeast Sunday??
  11. I have a Loomis venture 7 with a browning rod. Reel is currently spooled with backing and 8wt weight forward line. Everything is close to new as I've only used this two or three times. All for $90.00. The rod is 9ft 8wt.
  12. The State park on the Branchport arm is a great launch and only minutes away from Penn Yan. I would highly reccomend that for your next trip and only a few feet till deeper water. We hit fish all over that side last week and hopefully will get back out this Wednesday.
  13. What a great day it must have been to be on the water. Just send a picture message to your email off your phone. Just like sending a text and you can load your pic from your email. Paul.
  14. Great job! wish I was not workin today. Any size to the Salmon??
  15. The heck with spring, grab your PFD and send me a PM. I'll meet you at the launch. Weather depending, I will fish there next Wednesday.
  16. Tried Seneca out of severne pt this morning and after 3 consecutive waves crashed my bow I was thinkin maybe time to load up. Decided to head for Keuka. I never fish it so this was a first for me. Launched out of Branchport and didn't go far before we started picking up fish on Jigs. Picked up 3 quick and missed a few. Decided to troll and put out 2 SD/flies , one white on white and one Siver green SD with a green blue fly. white took a hit within seconds of setting it up and then took 3 more before the green fired. After that it was back and forth. Think we went 10 for 14 trolling. Running 225 out on a 3 setting out over 140 to 160 FOW. Most fish were 18-20" but we did manage one at 25". Females were still full of eggs. Lots of fun and I'll be back to do my part with these stunted overpopulated lakers
  17. Started early but didn't hit the water till almost 8:30. T falls is a long drive for me. Took a co-worker out for hopefully some salmon and a lil jiggin. Shot south quick and began to set up headed north. Ran 2 sd's and flies off the start in chrome/green-blue and had a quick hit and no one home. Got to the BSA camp and picked up a 17" salmon. Turned south and had another good hit which produced a legal LL. Decided to jig for a bit and it was slow goin. I switched from chartreuse to white and finally got a hit which produced a beautiful ten pound laker. Started trolling again with the same 220ft line out on a 3 setting on the dipsys and picked up one more dink salmon. Lost one more fish that broke off my SD/fly just behind the dipsy. Cold start but a nice day. FLX Troutman(Mike) Just give me a call or PM any Sunday you want to get out. I appreciate you letting me tag along the other day. Tcon, it was great meeting you and dont hesitate to message me to get out.... Not winterizing so any day the forcast is under 10mph I'm in! I can push a little windier on Cayuga but not not much.
  18. All our fish trolling came on SD and flies. Green and blue fly was the hot color. Did have one hit that tripped the dipsy with a green SD and white fly and took the hook clean off the heavy mono leader. Of course we never realized the hook was gone till we were loading up to leave. We trolled that hookless fly for quite some time.
  19. Fished yesterday and today on mostly the south end of Canandaigua. Hit bows and lakers on the 26th and only lakers on the 27th. After catching a couple lakers really suspended up high we tied into a nice 7lb bow. Wind was rippin pretty good so we rested the SD and flies and went to jiggin for a bit. Jig bite was slow but steady but we managed a few. Today we had no luck on the bows but the lakers were on fire. We caught them suspended 85 over 150, on bottom and all over. Acouple solid fish over 8 lbs and some spawned out females. Caught fish jiggin from 60 FOW out to over 140.
  20. Excellent catch!! Just curious if you got them on the northern end of the lake or southern?? They seem to be spread on the bait all over as you said but i'm headin out tomorrow and wednesday. hopin to get a few to hit the jigs.
  21. You dont need riggers and alot of expensive gear to get fish. I have a humminbird 525 brand new in the box i will let you have for sixty bucks. Run that with a pair of 47lc's like flxtroutman said with power pro and dipsy spin doctor fly rigs and you will catch fish all day long. No point in fishin dead water so you gotta have some kind of sonar unless you know right where to go. 25% off combos at dicks this week so a diawa settup will cost about 68.00 each. What a bargain!!! Auburn dicks had about 6 left when i was there sunday.
  22. Headed out of Woodville at 9:30 towards white rock. Trolled North and picked up one Maybe legal Laker as we got North of Vine Valley on a green SD and fly. Reset that rod and within a couple minutes picked up a nice 20" Bow. Went a bit further north and decided to run back and make another pass. Wind was picking up fast and the entire lake was pretty rough. Started our next run up and as I was setting up the driver ran us a bit shallow around 70FOW and we had another hit which turned out to be a 5lb laker on the same rod again. Continued North and hit another Bow about 23" down about 80ft over 130FOW. Ran across the lake to the west side looking for some shelter to do some jigging and not much calm water to be found. Picked up one more 5lb laker in about 100FOW jiggin and called it a day. Overall a great day minus the wind and waves.
