If you are buying just a xducer go with an airman p 66 . They are better than a lowrance x ducer. I may buy one before summers end. I am sure others here will tell you the same. Jmo
Do I need to use Yamaha tilt & trim fluid in my yamaha 225 hp tilt & trim unit or can I use something else? Maybe some type of hyd. jack oil, auto transmission fluid or power steering fluid ?? I need to top it off. Any thoughts ? Thanks for any info.
Fished the Oak Thurs. 4/24. did 25 + bt,steelie, & coho. mix, fished 6-20 fow. silver/blue, firetiger ,orange/silver worked well. Fished to the west. Fyi, all docks are in on both sides, we launched out of the St. launch & the gate is unlocked.
Seems to me, for the price, if you need to do all this rebuilding of them and end up using a rubber band anyway you might as well stick with a shower clip & rubber band ! I had them a few years ago & they all seemed to get brittle & break in half only got one season out of them. junk, ihmo.
Fished the Oak yesterday to the west did 25 of 29 cookie cutter BTs 4-5# big one 7-8# & a couple atlantics Most taken on silver & blue & firetiger. 8 - 12 fow. Had the doubles & one triple, had a great day!
The Airmar P 66 bl will work on the Lowrance HDS. It is better than the x ducer that comes with the Hds. I think If both units have a blue connector they should work together. Other people on site will know maybe comment.
I use the closed/solid end(blind) pop rivets along with caulk. It did the trick! You can get the rivets from Fastnal fasters stores. I think I used 1/2 long rivets Drill out old rivet & pop in new. You need a larger than average pop rivet gun. Some info; Fastenersupperstore.com &/or Fastnal.com. Looking for large flange aluminum blind riverts. I know at Fastnal you can buy only what you need. good luck!
I was told years ago not to use auto. wax on a boat , use a good marine wax, also if you use rubbing compound don't rub too hard it may damage the gel coat which makes it look like oxidation after a couple of years. Was told this info. by a car/boat detailer.
