King fishing looks good right now on the west end. Is it possible thes Kings do not move east as July and August in Mexico bay is king time I thought most kings traveled there for spawing ? Or is a west end fishery year round building up from pen rearing?

Thanks. I'm changing out three rods from spinning to line counters. Over at Olcott in June I have been using 15 lb test 230 yd capacity spinning reel no problem with handling 15-20 lb kings it had to wAtch line remaining, but this one king took the rig on a screaming run and could not even slow it down. Emptied the reel. New line counters are 400 yd capacity...twenty pound test . Rods are spinning 8ft, 3 inch... Rated for twenty pound test. I just wanted to see that fish...next time I think I will have the edge.

Ever use a spinning rod with bait caster type trolling reel. Any problems? Thanks.
