  1. And if the DEC allow them during "bow" season, that will be the last year New York ever soaks me and my family for $98 each.
  2. So now that I've been on and around boats my entire life I need a license? Your kidding right? What a joke.
  3. Sorry but military application calls for a wound as better than a kill.....kill= one man out of the fight....wound= at the least three out of the fight. Real life isn't a video game.
  4. Big and ugly? LMAO! Your Walmart/Dicks/Basspro/(insert generic chain store here) bow is 30" axle to axle and isn't even in the same zip code as far as engineering and quality goes. BTW the Element is 32" axle to axle, 2" is hardly huge. How can you even try to compare a $300 bow to a $1100? One that weighs over a pound more as well? AND last I checked, deer don't care what the bow looks like that kills them...lmao. You get what you pay for I guess.
  5. I really hate to post this reply but......... and keep in mind I deplore wasting fish.....Keep them and use them as fertilizer if you have to. The lake is so over whelmed it isn't funny.....removing as many lakers as possible is the only answer to get the size back in the lake.....very sad situation but true.
  6. I didn't even read through this thread... to answer this question. You do realize that the .223 round is used in military applications to WOUND a human sized target....as in NOT kill. And well, deer will take a whole hellava lot more damage than a human ever thought of, and keep on truck'in. I don't care what kind of bullet or load you plan on using, you'd have to have your head examined to try and actually use this round during deer season. Or you just like wounding animals. Other than the fact that most states require a caliber of at least .30 to hunt big game with. BTW, the .223 isn't even in the same league, let alone zip code as the .243 as far as wound channel damage goes. Speed/bullet wieght ratio has everything to do with an effective wound channel through tissue.
  7. Yeah freak'in pricey......But the "OMG THATS SMOOOOOOTH!" factor is well worth it. I'll give everyone some good advice, If you don't want to spend the money on one.....DO NOT TEST SHOOT IT! Its that smooth, you'll buy it. I've been bowhunting sense before compounds were a viable option. I've shot an awful lot of bows. I shoot 3-d in the Penn York league and shoot on a Tuesday night indoor league, I'm far from new or inexperienced, This bow is literally like shooting air, there is no thunk, no twang, no nothing. You only hear the fletches cutting air as the arrow heads down range. It took me 5, yes 5 shots while sighting it in at twenty yards to achieve a robin hood(its on the wall at Barrett's). I just can not imagine how anyone will top this bow.
  8. All depends on how well I get the new boat set-up and running, and how many times we can get out before to get used to it. With that said, we are a definite maybe.
  9. I'd be interested in one, if you ever decide to separate em PM me.
  10. 2008 Alumicraft 14' Jon boat. Two motors, 10 hp mud motor and 9.5 Johnson short shaft. Both run top notch and need nothing. Two swivel swamp camo seats with drink holders. Home made pop up duck blind. Has home made decks and carpeting. paddle, push pole, battery, anchor, clamp on lights, Lowrance X51 pro fish finder. Boat needs nothing and is very stable and will run in inches of water. Great river boat or swamp, its an ATV for hunting/fishing. Not the fastest thing on the water but it goes anywhere. Trailer was totally rebuilt, rewired, and repainted with new bunks this past spring(trailer has no title, will need to be titled as home made). $2500 firm. NOT WILLING TO SEPARATE!!!!!!
  11. A correctly set up MODERN compound should shoot a bare shaft straight every time. Vains, feathers, size, material makes little to no difference. As long as you do the same thing(exactly), every time you'll hit the same spot every time.
  12. Sorry...didn't mean to say nothing....any time on the water with my family is SOMETHING....lol!
  13. Thanks Andy, We fish the Finger lakes mostly and would be bummed if we tow all the way up to Ontario for nothing. On Huron almost anywhere from the Thumb on down is good all year and the northern part after June....so the migration info you gave is a great help. What about depth and speed? We don't have a probe sooooo....have everything else(actually redundant everything else). Is it pretty obvious where the fish are by the "fleet" or is it far between boats? Any info would be great, thanks.
  14. I know they canceled the one in the fall, just wondering if there are any plans to reschedule? Don't really want to go out on Ontario blind looking for salmon in the spring. And I'm fairly sure its an awful lot different from Lake Huron. Or if anyone with experience is interested in a ride along when we are ready to go, won't be until May or so.
  15. @on the lam, wow....just wow. That description of wiems is kind of harsh to say the least. I've owned 6, I currently have two, no separation anxiety or vindictiveness at all. As far as upland gun dogs go there are non...and I mean NON, easier to train or more determined to please than a wiem. You will give out long before a wiem will, they have endless energy and that is their down fall. If they are not given an outlet daily to use that energy, then yes, they will destroy stuff. But hey, they are a dog and not a piece of furniture. That being the other downfall, people get them because they are beautiful animals, then find out they have an actual purpose bred hound that takes understanding and special handling and not a piece of furniture. If you want a duck dog, get a Lab. If you want a dog to hunt virtually anything else, get a Wiem, they'll put any other breed to shame head to head, on any animal, fowl or otherwise. *edit* Also there are three main blood lines of Wiems and they all have there particular strong points and uses.
  16. Wounder why him and every other poor kid they've suckered is working 80+ hrs a week.....hell they even advert their jobs as 80+ hrs a week. I'll tell ya why....its cheaper to pay for the accidents and health problems from over work for 100 people, than it is to pay an honest weeks work(40-50 hrs) for 200 people. There is a reason why a standered work week is set at 40 hrs a week. You sir are disillusion if you honestly think these cheap as hell, slick talking, fat cat, RICH, HALIBURTON gas well people care anything about the environment, you, what happens ten years down the line, or anything besides a fast and easy buck. And that IS A FACT.
  17. Awww don't worry Gill-T....we won't have to deal with it.....our kids will, BUT HEY! THEY GOTS THEM SUM MONEYS FROM THEM NICE HONEST GAS WELL PEOPLES! Get a grip.
  18. All I hear is the same old....blah blah......dollar sign, dollar sign.....blah blah blah..... BULL HOKEY!! Sorry for those of us that live out in the country and don't own a couple hundred acres. The roads got tore up badly, and STILL, years later, are still trashed(want pics? I can post some from the front of my house). I own a little over 2 acres, never seen more than $50 dollars total from any gas company, for the EIGHT ACTIVE wells with in a mile from my property. Prosperity my a$$!!!! I also drive to work down 86 about the same time all these teenagers that the gas well company's have recruited straight out of high school, I drive 70 MPH....and I have welding rigs with all kinds of crap swinging off them passing me like I'm standing still, three rotten tooth, baseball hat wearing hicks, in the front seat drunk from the night before. Ask the police and the people that live down in the valley...teenage pregnancy's through the roof, friday night and saturday night the emergency rooms packed and police swamped......Yeah buddy! Drill baby drill......just stay the hell out of my neck of the woods thanks. Glad your gone and hope you never come back. edit: Also all the STATE LAND that is now inaccessible because the roads have been gated to protect these gas wells from "vandals"....what a joke. /end rant......

  21. Thank god for the most important thing.....everyone is ok, material possessions can always be replaced.
  22. Yeah, I'm gonna go through the plumbing tomorrow again and double check everything for air leaks.
  23. I have an in-line water/gas canister filter on my Trophy. I have one line going in and two lines coming out, one with a shut off valve(kicker). The problem is I loose prime in the bulbs and can't get it back without sucking gas thew it manually. Any ideas on how to fix this, I'd hate to run without a water separator.
  24. That is an absolute treasure there! Thanks for the release!
  25. Just drove through Dundee on our way home from Keuka, by the time we got to the cemetery we were all in tears for SPC. Scott. I hope our country has the fortitude to continue to bring the fight to these scumbags that have, and continue to cause grief to our country.
