  1. Thats the way....hope you don't have to much of a mess when you go back home.
  2. Hope you guys are alright, please let us all know how you all made out.
  3. OMG! STOP IT...can't wait till the 16th.....here we come lake O!
  4. The smile on that young mans face says it all, congrats on the Kueka LL.
  5. I had that problem once, but it wasn't a salmon.......they never have found her ether.
  6. Uh, correct me if I'm wrong here but, They hook themselfs, your yanking the hook out of their mouths buddy.
  7. Yes they have stocked sense 2003, they dump thousands of LL salmon finger lenghts in Keuka every year, awesome food for all the lakers there! That would be funny if it wasn't true, and all 5 lake trout limit is going to do is maintain the over population, they need to make it unlimited lakers for a good five years or more, then start all over with the management.
  8. Yep, Ray is right, Thats one of the best launches on the lake to, free, well cared for.....awesome. We may use it ourselfs with the new boat this weekend on top of that!
  9. Come on and take all you like man! We always do, 2 lbrs are great for the table, people just don't realize this. We also can them and make pattys out of them. I love this lake and wish it was more like Canandagua TBH. Hopefully some day it will be again if the joke of a DEC ever gets there head out of there you know what.
  10. The biggest jig that you can find, just use your fish finder to locate fish, and let the jig drop until it stops, then jerk it up a few times, let it fall again, then reel like hell! Repeat until you feel a heavy weight...thats a fish...lol! Green or white always works for us, and in a shad or twister pattern.
  11. Jig off the bottom right in front of Bluff point. Big jigs in white or green will get you lakers.
  12. @quality time, when I can go out on Kueka and average 10+ fish an hour on a two rod spread EVERY time I go out on this lake, and every laker is in a 20" to 25" slot size, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see the over populated species. I challenge you to go out on Kueka and catch a rainbow, or a salmon, or brown........goood luck with that. The lake has been mis-handled and is way out of balance, those of us that fish it already know this tho.
  13. I don't agree with the guys saying its always been a small lake trout lake. Thats nonsense, Its way way way (did I say way?) over populated with lakers. Catch and release gone totally wrong IMHO.....and all these C&R freeks pushing the one fish, and catch and release only regs should be forced to fish this lake to get a taste of what to much C&R brings. Its like a farm pond with to many bluegills, tons of them, nothing else, and small sizes. I remember the days Ray talked about, went this spring and never saw one fish, nothing last fall ether, its a shame.
  14. We (fiance, and two kids) are camping at Selkirk shores the weekend of Sep 16 to sunday....its only $57 to camp. We are working hard to get the new boat in shape for the Big O. We'll be going out of the Salmon river, if we can get everything set with the boat you'd be welcome. 21' Bayliner Trophy, should be plenty of room.
  15. Yay! More C&R nazi's pushing BS regs to over populate the Ontario trout population.....greatttttttttttttt! I think all these one fish limit people should be forced to fish Keuka lake only for two years.....then let them say they want to over populate a species......morons. NO, SELFISH morons.
  16. Look at my post earlier this summer....the clueless shmuck next door to me has killed a native brook trout stream AND seriously degraded Meads creek for miles. The DEC's response? Nah....go ahead pal....screw the environment...nah no need for a permit....go ahead and ruin the stream ........ The DEC is a failure and a joke as far as I'm concerned any more....what a joke. They have lost any respect I ever had for them, they should all be fired.
  17. You gotta let me in on your secret for getting that wiem to sit still in the boat....mine would jump off and probably drown, or just tear my boat to shreds! Anyways, heres a pic of one of my two girls....she's slightly spoiled we were camping last year up at Pualaski....
  18. My suggestion is, make damn sure you know what your doing in an 18ft boat before you go out past the bay(Mexico). That lake will KILL you in a heart beat if you aren't careful. And an 18ft boat is only marginal for that lake.
  19. Yeah, they are Atlantic's that came down through the St Lawrence, Historically, almost got whipped out in the finger lakes all together. But thank god are back in full force in most of their range thanks to the DEC. The true Land locks are found in Maine and are only a sub species I believe. The "land locked sockeyes" are Kokanee(spelling?) salmon, and I don't think Lake George has any.
  20. Don't take this wrong, but if you want other than lakers, go to another lake. In two years we've hooked less than five Land locks and no rainbows or browns. Yeah they are in the lake, but the lakers are over populated and eat anything that swims. Last time out we caught over 30 lakers in four hours. Go to Cayuga, its probably the best all around lake for variety this year.
  21. Thank you for your reply, I will call the Army corps of engineers today. Trout unlimited was e-mail for what thats worth. humblefisher, This guy has no intention of ever fixing his mess, he simply doesn't have the mental capacity to understand what he's done to the stream bed is much worse than what was there before. For a comparison, this site is basically what the L.A. river looks like, only without a concrete lining. He has dug down past the gravel flipped the gravel and refilled with dirt, as soon as it rains all of this is going directly into Meads creek and the Chemung river drainage.
  22. Not to sound like a jerk guys...but please don't name names, one selfish fool and a streams stocks can be ruined for years or worse. Meads creek has a few very large native brooks left...but this same individual tore up a large portion of that creek a few years ago for another farmer....then ran like a little girl when the DEC came, he denied it and the farmer got the shiznit fined out of him. The guy I'm talking about is a real scum bag, and a snake, He "sold" around 5 acres of state land in a deal to another guy....like I said...real scum. But the authority's always find a convenient reason not to do anything to him.
