  1. I have fished the Rochester piers over the last 20 years, with the last 8 being very invested. I will say that the fishing off the piers this year has been the same as any other. I averaged about 40 kings a season casting, with my best year being 57. I am on pace this season to do better than my average. Like ifishy said, this past week with stable weather and warm water temps around the piers…..well that never makes for great stager fishing around the mouth. This is the week the boats have been hitting it hard out front…..and with little luck. The bite has been trash since last Friday, although I still did get a few this week. Early last week when the bite was on fire, almost all the captains were driving right over them to go fish offshore 🤷🏼‍♂️. As for Sandy, I have watched that fishery digress in king numbers the last few season. I can’t really speak to Caledonia, as I’m not informed about that situation. However, I will say we still have some good fishing to look forward to out infront of the roc.
  2. The kings still return to the genny. I got a real beauty this morning! 😂
  3. Guys have been quiet this year! Good fishing early, but has tapered off greatly with this warm stable weather. What’s everyone seeing out there?
  4. You aren’t lying lol. He helped me get a few last minute things prepped on the woods today
  5. I will probably get my son out once and twice this week
  6. Anyone know of any processors open for the early antlerless season that do a good job?
  7. 40” pike don’t show up around here often. Essentially you are going to be fishing for a needle in a haystack. 95% of the pike in that lake are probably 18-35 inches. That leaves you maybe 5% of the population that would be 40” plus. The number is probably even smaller than that. I would upsize lures. Muskie sized lures. You will get less bites, but you will get the right bites, hopefully lol. I have fished all over the last 25 years and have caught tons of pike, and I’ve only ever gotten one pike 40 plus and a couple other close. It just doesn’t happen around here often. It’s essentially like catching a 50” musky. It just doesn’t happen often because there aren’t a lot of them around
  8. I’m feeling hopeful about the season. Can’t wait to get out there
  9. We spent the second half of this week up in the islands. I took the kids into Clayton just to mess around and fish from shore. We ended up landing some beauties with one largemouth being around 6 pounds. Always a fun trip 💪🏼
  10. I have heard Moyle, Mink, & Tannery is good
  11. Huge shoutout to Tom for giving me some Lake Erie walleye info that absolutely helped me have a very successful first Erie walleye outing. I took my son, my buddy, and two of his sons. We launched out of the Catt alittle after 2:30 yesterday afternoon. Ran out to 60 and started marking fish in 63. Worked 65-70 with two riggers and two size 4 chinook divers on a 4 setting. Riggers down 48 to 60 with 55 being the best and chinook divers 85 out. Pulled rods at 7:30 with our 6 man limit. Worm burners and worm harnesses were best. We did pull a few on sticks as well. We ended with 32 walleye, a perch, and a beautiful 11-13 pound steelhead. No pictures because I went to rinse it off and it flopped out of my hands 🤦🏼‍♂️. Either way, awesome first experience on Erie!!!
  12. Awesome! Congrats. 30 pounders aren’t easy to come by now a days
  13. 100% correct! MH rod, 4000 size reel, 15 to 20 pound braid, 15 to 20 pound fluro leader
  14. Bottom one is a nice fat Atlantic! Nice work
  15. We started out the first three hours of the day jigging in hopes to put a box together for the shootout. We just couldn’t find a good screen. We got one small king jigging in those 3 hours, and then decided to switch over to trolling to cover more water. We ended up heading off shore and put a decent box together. Decent enough for a 6th place finish which was pretty cool! FF and meat took our two biggest. Congrats to Rob, Bill, and the rest of the crew for the first place finish 💪🏼
  16. Missed a king right off the bat then the marks dried up. Decided to swing in to try in jig up some browns. We landed 3 browns and missed anther 6 or 7, a coho, and a laker. Not a bad way to spend the morning
  17. Awesome morning out there Bill. Thanks for having me out!
  18. Quick evening trip with my dad. We looked for smallmouth for most of the evening with no luck, so we slid out and dropped the jigs. My dad got a laker and I got a beautiful Atlantic. Missed a couple other hits. Beautiful night to be out
  19. I had another friend out jigging yesterday, and he got an Atlantic yesterday too
  20. Deep rig tackle herring strip
