  1. I have a Humminbird and a Lowrance on board. I use the Humminbird to control downriggers and for side and downscan. I had my Lowrance first and only purchased the Humminbird to link my riggers. I like my Lowrance so much that I couldn't part with it. They both work great. Whatever you choose, make sure its in color.
  2. Charter at first light today on Cayuga. Am I the only one that thinks meteorologists are idiots As of last night they were calling for a NW wind at 5-10. This would have put a nice chop on the water. Anyways the water was like glass all day (NO WIND). The bite at first light was slow but action picked up around 9:30. Ended the trip with one laker a few ounces shy of 10lbs and several 4-8 lbrs. A happy bunch of young guys that were complaining about sore arms Lots of short landlocks but they went back in the lake with some shorter lakers. The normal set up of wire dipsy's, copper and riggers all caught fish. Other than the heat and lack of wind it was a great day with awesome people
  3. Past couple of days on Cayuga have been great Fish are spread out all over with no place better than the other for me. Fish stacked from surface down to 150'. 7/15 charter started at 4p.m. and we hooked up as I turned my back to set the 2nd rod of an 8 rod spread. Action was non stop til dark 7/17 charter started at daylight. Bite was steady all morning. Limited out with lakers but had to work for legal salmon. The usual spread of flashers/flies and spoons all did well. No lakers over 10lbs but you better believe I have been keeping tabs on there wherabouts for next weekends Cayuga LOU Fleas are terrible but Cortland Flea Flicker line makes them manageable. Good luck out there.
  4. Pictures? List of whats on boat. I just got a quote from Willie and Fish Rite with shipping and curious to see what you have that is not included in my package. Thanks
  5. I have spent at least one week a year for the past 9 years on this lake. We camp at the Tioga State Park. I was at the lake about three weeks ago and did well in my secret brook trout spot Black flies were the worst but that's my fault for going when I did Lots of native brook trout but tons of work to get in to the brook they hide in. Sorry but I cant share that spot with you We do great with the lake trout off Needle Point. There is a nice drop off. We troll with traditional Finger Lakes trolling methods. I personally like to drift Lake Clear Wobblers with crawlers. Three way swivel with weight appropriate for drift. About eight or nine inches max between wobbler and worm harness. Ultra light or medium action spinning gear with 6 or 8 lb test is all you need. Set your drags, lakers over 10lb are taken out of this lake every year. Lake trout are a lot darker colored in ADK's which makes it almost seem like your fishing for a completely different species Small and large mouth bass as well as panfish can be found in the many different coves around the lake. You just have to move around to find them. PM me if you need specific information, I have gotten pretty familiar with this place. I think it's one of the best places left in our state
  6. Sean, Had a charter out there till dark last night (Friday) hit the lakers good, and found the big landlocks Give me a call and I'll fill you in. You won't believe what I was getting them on
  7. Great report. Nice haul of fish
  8. Fished from Scout Camp to Long Point with a great group of guy's from the area. We caught too many fish to count. Diver with spin dr's and flies were hot for the lakers Took a nice rainbow, landlock, and a couple of lakers on spoons off riggers out 35'-60'. All fish were out in water over 300'. Absolutely no weeds from scout camp to Sheldrake Lake is loaded with weeds around Long Point. Action was much steadier than over the weekend. No monsters but some happy customers
  9. Great report We had the same issues all weekend. Short landlocks, small lakers, fleas and weeds. We caught a ton of fish but they were all on the small side. My 9 year old son ended up on the board with a 3rd place laker in the youth division, which made him extremely happy My poor 8 year old did battle with a couple of nice lakers but lost them on the way to the boat I let them do all the work on the rods today and they both did good bringing fish to the boat with no tangled lines or lost gear. The crew that worked the weigh station at Myers was great! My boys were both given fishing tackle prizes when they weighed their fish in which also made them happy All in all a great weekend on the water
  10. Great pics Good to see you had a good time and made it back safe! See you on the water.
  11. Hey Mike, launching out of Myers both days and will head north from there. Weigh Station will be at the park which makes it easy for us to weigh fish and keep track of the standings. Going to hit "the spot" . PM me if you don't have my cell number. Will see you out there. Good luck!
  12. If your not doing it already, try longer leads on your rigger spoons, 60-70 feet from ball. Depth and speed at depth is important also. Good luck, you'll get the kinks worked out eventually
  13. Great report Jason Looks like its that time of the year again... will be dodging weeds for the rest of the year
  14. We'll be out on Cayuga both days. Have a charter on Saturday and my team will be with me on Sunday. Good luck to all. This ones always a good time
  15. Let me know when you want to go, I'm game
  16. Nice job Sean You keep taking Jason out on days like today he wont want to get back onto his own boat
  17. Fished out of Deans Cove in FLTA Tournament. Was good to see the guys again, we had a great turnout . Started a south troll just north of Long Point. Took a few small lakers as we crossed the point. Didn't mark the fish at this location like we usually do at this time of the year. Pulled up for run across to Sheldrake Point where we started a south troll. Ran a ten rod set all day and couldn't keep anything in the water. Rods were firing off with fish as fast as we could get them set. Lots of 5-8 lb lakers and short landlocks. Fish stacked up from 95' out to 200'. Riggers down 35' and 45' with slide cheaters, 150, 250, and 300 copper, wire dipsey divers out 160-220', and 7 and 10 color core all took fish. Green/silver, orange/silver spoons were hot, with a few lakers on flasher and fly's. The fishing is probably the best I have ever seen it on this lake. We easily boated 50-60 fish. The crew kept a few lakers to weigh in and for the grill. Awesome day on the water, with some very nice lakers and silver fish caught by many club members
  18. Great report That's a monster Finger Lakes Laker
  19. Terry, It's about time you chimed in to take some of the credit!!! Hope to see you on Cayuga next weekend.
