  1. true...but look at places like lac seul, huuuuuuuuge body of water with huuuuuuuge skis in it theyre just way too far and few in it ive read it just takes several 12 hour days of non stop fishing to even see one it sounds like the alley is the same way
  2. lure wash? meaning zero chance of any fish?? youd think for such a big body of water itd be better but ill have to look into the "cow" (i like it haha) now.
  3. whats the cow? ive thought about heading down to the allegheney on the PA side
  4. sold the wakeboard boat and got a lund! among dozens of new lures that i probably didnt need but HAD to have...
  5. read its full of little northerns and even smaller muskies
  6. I like those cisco kids a lot, have had a bit of success on those...what colors do you have available in those?
  7. very understandable...I am looking into some of those lures now and hopefully would be able to make it out there on the 5th! have to check out the work schedule
  8. well if you find a place in rochester or anywhere close around here my buddy and I would clean a lot of them out at 6.00 a piece!
  9. I dont know if the palmyra one would be worth it or not because ive never been or even heard of it at this point but if theyre muskie/northern pike lures for sale there from some of the guys you can bet your ass ill be there! thats right down the road from me
  10. every day is a day closer to the opener! the boat arrives in the next 3 weeks and then I will most likely just sleep in it with all of my rods and boxes until opening day! im pretty sure I will have picked out about 20,000 different variations of rod and lure choices in the meantime...im assuming everyone in this post is doing conesus on saturday is everyone doing it sunday too or are there plans to venture off to other waters the following day? also since tomorrow (st. pats day) is going to be 61 and mostly sunny (enjoy it as much as you can I will be tending bar all afternoon/evening at flahertys in honeoye falls) the ice is going to have melted a ton and has me wondering if the northern run is going to start soon?
  11. id love it, since I cant always fish for pure muskies itd be very interesting to learn more about what I do have consistant time to fish for! pike and tigers! tiger musky would be very helpful too there isnt a lot of information on their habits available at all from what ive searched for
  12. which regs are you talking about? like certified bait regs?
  13. yeah it wouldnt be too much of a "business" by any means...the person I would order from would be delivering by the pound so I would have plenty left over from whatever I dont take with me out fishing which if im ordering by the pound would be a lot you guys are welcome to...im just going to go to country max I think and get a big horse tub for like 30 bucks and just keep them in there
  14. yeah I dont think it would be like that...just a few extras for anyone who happened to be driving by, nothing extraordinaire not trying to make a profit like becoming a full fledged bait shop. trust me the main priority is me out fishing haha
  15. i would deffinately look into that as well
  16. i got my bait license and was thinking about maybe selling some bait from my house for a little project this spring and summer...I know a lot of you guys always say its hard to find decent sized bait for esox and being an esox angler myself id mostly just order 6-8 inch golden shiners and 8-14 inch suckers haha. Id say im in an pretty nice location in victor, a lot of bodies of water around and on the way to a lot of esox lakes depending on where youre coming from. thought id ask the opinions of some of the guys on here and see what people think of it?
  17. ^ haha zach my bad I meant 1 oz...10 oz would be like throwing a good sized rock
  18. sold my wakeboard boat and got a lund! im officially all fishing now...i got the rebel 1625 xl and couldnt be more pumped to get it the week before opening day! what does everyone here fish out of for esox?
  19. shallow: northland tackle bionic bucktail spinnerbait in black/orange or chartreuse mid depth/deep: trolled believer plug in black sucker or pumpkinseed, or a nice big 10z esox cobra jig with white skirt and 6 inch shad tail
  20. very true you couldnt have said it any better. Again I apologize for my comments at the time I was all hot-headed having read about locals of the area gathering at the local bar and talking about how they keep/kill as many of them as they can for the sake of the bass and panfish...but it was wrong of me to use that term and talk the way i did.
  21. and this is why i hate february and march! you get a bunch of misleadingly warm days that get you thinking crazy things like spring is on the way followed by pike opener and then we get weather like this!
  22. sounds good! would deffinately sign up thats my home lake!
  23. would the tourney be catch and release? im not familiar with how pike derbys go...at least ones held by the NMA im pretty sure all the other derbys the fish are killed right?
  24. thanks larry! I am looking into the tournament. ive only ever fished chautauqua once in my life and it was when i was 17 and went with my uncle but i would still like to do it for the experience
