  1. very nice catch...but you can get replicas too instead of killing it...
  2. anybody know of any waters (other than the larry, two massive to fish in a short amount of time) in the kingston area or not too far of a drive away? we are heading up in september to singleton lake for some pike and bass but are trying to plan a little side trip for pures while were up there. heard some things about the rideau river and lake systems but dont know how close they are to singleton...any other recommendations?
  3. berger king thats what I was thinking of...when i used to go up there with my uncle and a local guide that was a friend of his all he would pull were jailbird and walleye colored believers
  4. at the tourney he pulled out one of his 8 inch plugs too which would be nice in the fall
  5. Sorry but no reels just the rods! let me know if youd like some pics of them
  6. vettman id work some deeper water for them now that the temps have gone up. try weedbeds in the 15 fow range. countdown big spinnerbaits/bucktails or throw big heavy soft body jerkbaits that u can work deeper
  7. thanks joe we owe it to you guys for giving us pointers on where to go bc thats where we got them and better yet we got them casting which is what we prefer to do anyways. im already thinking about the next time down there

  12. werent able to catch a damn thing during the tournament it was tough fishing for all but me adn my buddy managed to get our firsts ever that night and the next day so all in all it was a real good time looking forward to getting back now that we got to learn a thing or 5 from all you guys there. thanks a ton for all the info guys
  13. haha I would compare me winning to the same odds as stanford beating USC is 2007...but either way we are pumped about it!
  14. search for the post on here titled "tiger time" its an article that talks about how in the midst of the hottest days in the summer when surface temps peak they move in real shallow, its an interesting read im looking forward to putting it to test this year. Conesus has some big tigers (as well as huge northerns) so make sure ur using at least 50lbs braid with a nice sturdy baitcaster the tigers are an unreal fight and very aggressive
  15. whats the fastest way to get there from rochester? thruway to buffalo or 390 to 39 all the way west through the towns? im sure 39 would be more of an enjoyable drive i think the thruway ride to buffalo is like pulling teeth!

  17. recently caught my first tigers this year out of there... the 2 came on a 6' grandma in alewife color (the lake is full of them as im sure you know) twitched over weeds in about 15 fow. Keep in mind this was almost a month ago so the water was much colder so I am not sure where they are located now. Im sure there are a bunch still in the weed beds but the bigger ones are probably a tad deeper in about 20 fow. My biggest (41') came in about 22 fow on a break where it dropped to 40 fow but the lure was maybe 6-9 feet down. Hope this helps im still new to figuring them out in that lake but thats been my top lure on that lake all season long
  18. 8 ft. St. Croix Premier MH in new condition for $100 7 ft. Shimano Compre Muskie Rod used 3 times for sale for $85 PM me if interested I may forget to check back on here if you respond to this post
  19. no i didnt try the whole jigging thing too much the wind was too quick and annoying to stay at the depth i wanted to be at. the fish were hot on a bright bucher slop master spinnerbait. i also got 2 on the grandma again too.
  20. rough morning weather wise...weather.com said 30 percent chance of a drizzle which turned out to be a constant rain with a 15 mph wind which made some areas difficult to fish. still managed 4 northerns the biggest being maybe 32' and i lost a tiger to what i believe were dull hooks i was pissed
  21. hopefully i get the hang out it its something we might even try at the tourney to switch it up a bit from trolling it could be promising if the fish are deeper
  22. ive got some of those esox cobra jigs with the 6 inch shad and grub tails and then ive got a couple of those storm 9 inch shad spin tails that look a lot like the bondy baits. I want to try and get another tiger theyve been MIA since those last 2 I got.
