  1. Hey Rob my boat is basically the same exact boat you have just a 22ft. how long of a track do you have and how many rod holders can you run on it comfortabley?? Matt -Jakey Baby-
  2. With the triple Big Jon holders, if you are running yer rod straight out horizontal with the water is it easy enough to pull it out with a fish on the other end of the line? The ones i have now it is a pain in the but especialy if you are not used to using them, lost ALOT of fish last season when other people tried to get the rod out!
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-BIG-JON-TRIPL ... 6456312591 Not sure what the pic didnt show up in the above post i hope this one will!!!!
  4. Any one run this style Big Jon set up? If so do they hold well to a big King slammin a mag dipsy set up?? Are they a pain being in the way unlike the Berts that you can take of the track that holds them in place? Please help me with any info I CANT MAKE UP MY MIND WHAT I WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VI ... 0219283483 Thanks Matt -Jaky Baby-
  5. Why dont you have any of those for sale in your Extravaganza.....?????
  6. I will bring money to the show and hope there are some hanging around!
  7. Yea the trim tab that is also anoid held in by the single bolt that helps hold the upper and lower unit together is the one that i have played around with rolmops. No real positve results thou. The boat just seems like it almost wants to roll over on its left side especially in rougher water, when motoring. Bullgator, my boat does not have the trim tabs that are bolted on each side of the transom that you are talking about. Yet that is!! Pullin the whale tail completely off can help more then hinder really??? Never gave that a thought! Thanks Matt -Jakey Baby-
  8. Thanks for ALL the advise to all. I am going to try and trouble shoot this problem with the advise you guys have provided. Another ? i have if i do have water log in the foam like you guys mentiond, is there any way to help dry it out..??? Or am i just F%&*d? Because im thinking it is possible that i do because when i do get up on plane the boat pulls to left religousley!!! I have tried to play with my trim tab anoid above the prop to help this, but no real differnce. Thanks Again! Matt -Jakey Baby-
  9. I am in the process of upgrading lots of things on the boat before this coming season! One of the things i would like to try and make a little better is getting my boat up on plane faster!!!! I have a 1987 22ft Cris Craft with a 4cly. mercruiser pushing it(180 hp), with the Alpha One lower unit. I was wondering if changing out the factory i guess i would call it a "whale tail".. not sure exactly the name. But it is the tail looking thing on the lower unit just above the prop for the prop wash. The one on the boat now, barely covers the dia. of the prop. Is it supposed to..?? My guess is the more down force that it pushes out the faster you would get on plane which also means not burning as much fuel!!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions would be greatly apprectiated!!! Thanks Alot Matt -Jakey Baby-
  10. That is awsome!!!! I am jelous!!!! Sweet job Did Manage to limit out on Squaws this morning -Jakey Baby- Matt
  11. We have been hunting in tight for birds and have been pounding the snot out of the Ol Squaw's and only Ol Squaws..!!! Would like to get into a bigger variety of birds! When you guys run off shore how do you know were to set up??? Look for #'s of birds, look for a water break..?? Will bufflehead, redhead, goldeneye, bluebill decoys work well? I would love to try and get some of those scooters!!! Also, do you get into the bufflehead, bluebill or goldeneye's out deep?? It just seems like 4-5 years ago it was all Bluebills , Bufflehead, and Goldeneye's around with very limited Ol Squaws, and now it has completely switched!!! Is it possible that the # of Squaws forced the other species of divers deeper to find food?? Any thoughts or sugestions would be greatly apprectiated!! Thanks Alot Matt -Jakey Baby-
  12. Hunted the Big Lake O Saturday the 31st with 3 buddys and took our limit of Ol Squaw's with a total of 24. Decided to take advantage of the #'s of birds in the area and went back to the same spot Sunday the 1st with 2 buddys and took our limit again with a total of 18! Not a bad New Years!!! Lots of fun shooting those birds that are almost impossible to kill...!! Seemed like we shot more at cripples then ever before! All Ol Squaws thou, only saw one drake Blue Bill over the 2 hunts and a few mallards. Good Luck & Happy New Year To All Jakey Baby Matt
  13. Kill all them damn coyotes!!! Great Job!!
  14. As I headed out yesterday evening i saw a lot of fresh tracks in the snow that we have been waiting all season for! this lead me to believe this cold weather had the deer on there feet again! Saw to first rack bucks and that was it for my evening. On my walk back in I came across a FRESH opened up scrape that was not there 2 1/2 hours earlier!! Dec. 10 and fresh scrapes....??? I geuss the "experts" will tell you though that the 2nd rut usally kicks in 30 days past the fall equinox..(spelling might be wrong on that) . So all i can say is from the buck movement and sign i have seen in the last few COLD days if you still have tags u better be in the woods now! This is one of yer best chances to shoot that BIG one or just see a lot of deer movement! Good Luck -Jakey Baby- Matt
  15. Great Job!!!! Congrats on all 3 , u sure thats a 16 gauge ! It looks like a CANNON!!
  16. Hahaha the ghost like creature in front of the camera is my buddy with his celabration cigar hanging out of his mouth!!! I always tell him to put that damn thing out yer spooking the deer! But then again it is his property that i was able to tag both bucks on, so smoke away John!!! Haha
  17. I also shoot a 45. from cva and 225gr. power belts shoot pretty darn good for me! Only 100 gr. of powder thuo i tried 150gr. but that combination just had horrible results. I took a nice 8 pointer with it this season at 85 yards and absolutely pile drived straight into the ground with zero movement once it hit the ground! Got to love the smoke poles , Good luck -Jakey Baby- Matt
  18. I know, after i even read this post it kind of seems like i am ungreatful! But believe me thats not what i mean, my point is just the #'s and the amount of movement that i personally have seen have been alot less and slower to my past years!
  19. Took both these bucks this year! One with my Mathews and one with my Muzzle Loader. Yea, i am happy with my bucks dont get me wrong, but all in all i would say this year has been the worst year for me in a very long time, prolly b4 i new what i was doing!! Mainly i would say it his do to the Florida like weather we have had to deal with ALL SEASON! Hopefully we can get a little bit of that white stuff and some colder weather for the smoke poles!!! Good Luck -Jakey Baby- Matt
  20. Billy V, Did you happen to kill any thing...???
  21. The Scent Blocker boots I have come with a "odor catcher"..? that you can wash and recharge. Also they have a rip cord that pulls tight at the top of the boot that locks the scent in leaving only your socks to accumulate scent. Plus they are very light waight and comfortable. For the $100.00 i payed for them very well worth it! Matt -Jakey Baby-
  22. You simpley need to play the the wind!! Not only while sitting but going to and from your stand location also!!!!I wash all my clothes a few times a week and wear scent blocker clothes, boots, gloves, and mask. But they can still get ya, the wind is everything. My #1 rule is DO NOT tuck your pant legs inside your boots!!!!!!!!!!!Your feet have odor no matter what you might think If you put your pants in your boots walk to and from your stand plus sit your stand for hours then get back to your truck and put all your "Scent FREE clothes" back in your bag and seal it up! Now all your clothes that you try and make as scent free as possible smell like your feet, just from your pants from the knees down.Trust me i used to do it and would get busted and now that i ALWAYS wear them outside the boots what a differnce .Also i will put my clothes in leaves but only if they are extremly dry. If they are wet at all they will leave a musty odor so make sure they are very dry.One other tip is buy the fresh earth dryer sheets, they work.I always wash my inner clothes first then do a seperate load with my camo, bags, ect.. Then dry them seprate also, your washer and dryer smell like flowers or whatever scent you might have in there allyear long. Thats why my camo goes last so hopefully that scent you dont want gets washed away b4 it gets exposed to it. Matt -Jakey Baby-
  23. Rapala J-13's are the plugs you must be talking about. I have been casting and trolling with them in the fall for a long time now. They really have a great action to piss those fish off!Like you said Fire Tiger is the best color but orange and gold, black and silver or natural perch all work well also. When casting them i crank them in very very slow most of the time, it just gives it that more action. Once the kings are really setting up to come in to the rivers i will run 6 J-13's off my planner boards and absolutley pound the kings!!! Matt -Jakey Baby-
