  1. Killed a few mallards this weekend. Saw plenty just couldn't get them to commit all the way. Going to try this evening with this cold blast and the lake should be cranking keeping them off the big water.
  2. Cool to hear about the Indian River lakes. I have a cottage on Hyde Lake, used to be loaded with Crappie but the numbers have dropped dramatically in the last 8-10 years.
  3. Thanks guys I will look into them. They are definitely alot less bulky.
  4. Cool stuff!
  5. I plan on trying the offshore thing during the up coming Duck season. That being said the law says you have to have a life jacket on. Anyone know of a jacket that doesn't interfere with pulling your gun up and shouldering it with out it being in the way? Thanks
  6. Didn't get to hunt the last season as much as I wanted to, but then again the whether didn't push me to go either. It's been great sharing a stand with everyone on here. Congrats again to everyone to was lucky enough to punch some tags in the toughest season to date. Let's hope for a better winter then the last two to allow the deer numbers to bounce back a little bit. On to ducks for the late season then it's come on Spring! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!
  7. Holy cow! That's a MONSTER! !
  8. Counting down the days for the season to open back up!
  9. As far as boards go I run offshore's and just switched all my front releases out with Sam's Pro Releases. They are absolutely awsome. They release just like a blacks downrigger would. They are fully adjustable so even a light Walleye bite will release the board like they are interested to do. Line size or style does not matter either with them. And make the long drag in much easier with no resistance of the board fight against you. Also much less tangles occur since they pop so easily.
  10. I use my Okuma Pro GLT 8.5 ft medium heavy for both and they work great! Plenty of bend and tip action for both and the triangle grip makes it very comfortable when you have to reel in those eyes that are way back behind the boat. I just leader down with my floro and makes them longer also as Walleye are much more finicky.
  11. Unless a 200 incher showed up of course! Lol
  12. Congrats on the baby!! Better then any deer for sure
  13. First sorry about the loss of Mike! Looks like a lot of work has gone into this and alot can come out of it. People would be crazy not to jump on a chance to win one of theese trips. I will definitely be trying to win one of theese and I wish you guys the best of luck!
  14. Scott I think you need a beer!
  15. What a shame! That's a true Monster!
  16. I second the Sam's pro releases! I bought 6 of them last year for my Offshore boards and they are absolutely awsome!
  17. Dave congrats! That's a slob 8pt!
  18. Good luck! I'm in one of my better spots also, scouting it out for next season. Couldn't take being out of the woods for so long.
  19. Knocked the alarm clock over and whent back to sleep. Figured evenings are much more productive right now anyway. Haven't been out much as of late with theese balming temps.
  20. Gota love the game
  21. Looks good! I would sit there...
  22. Sat this evening with no deer moving, man I wish it would get cold. Once ML season starts I will be putting some miles on my truck to get to a safe zone where you are still aloud to shoot racks
  23. I actually did that for the first time this year when I shot my buck, just on my walk to the truck and get the wheeler ti get him out. Didn't want to take any chances!
  24. You still have your boat in the water??
  25. I personally would NEVER shoot an animal and not plan on taking it home with me right then. Leaving them over night is not a good idea unless you absolutely have to because of shot placement or something along those lines.
