Great bucks all. Had a great opportunity Sunday afternoon. Long draw back, buck fever and tunnel vision. Hit a twig or made the worst shot every. Huge loud noise on impact. Buck didn’t move much. My heart sunk as I noticed blood on his rear leg. He moved slow and wondered what happened. Another buck near by didn’t spook either. Waited and got down to find my arrow and no blood. Arrow was waxy, broadhead all bent up and rear end of arrow missing. Walked a little and there was a decent blood trail but it dried up. Looked again Monday in daylight and found nothing. Plan to go back this afternoon and hunt. Bow is on. Low expectations but gotta get back at it.

Snuck out after work in the light rain into a hut. Put my bow in a plastic bag. Stopped raining for the last hour. Saw some deer just before shooting time aka dark. Buck was busted up down to the main beams but did a 180 to a grunt and circled down wind. Fun when a call makes a difference. lots of leaves fell. Whole different woods from Sunday. hope to get out in the am too.

DEC Announces One-Day Closure of Fishing Access Site Closure in Effect on Sept. 20 for Parking Lot Maintenance The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced a temporary closure of the Sandy Creek Fishing Access Site boat launch in the town of Hamlin, Monroe County, to allow for maintenance of the parking lot. The Sandy Creek Fishing Access Site is anticipated to be closed for approximately 24 hours. In the interim, DEC is asking the public to use these boat launch alternatives on Sept. 20: To the east: Braddock Bay Boat Launch on East Manitou Road within the Braddock Bay Wildlife Management Area. To the west: Oak Orchard State Marine Park on Archbald Road in Carlton. https://www.dec.ny.gov/press/press.html -
Seams like louder the boat the faster they go through. Yesterday One came to a quick stop. They got out of the boat and pushed it back in, to idle to the dock. saw a large cruiser get through slow. heard few in the dark rip through.

Pretty breezy and only could get out near 120 before it was a little too sporty. fished 60 to 120fow and had cold water in 60fow on the way out but nothing on the way in. Ended 6 for 8 with 2 browns and one mature king. King came on a minion flasher and meat rig. Skippers tied up a few spoon lines but all looked ready to go for a swim and we checked rods a lot. even the bigger king revived and swam away good. flasher fly got nothing. brown trout looked normal, no nuclear. Hope it tastes as good. fleas were not bad at all. Flies were so so. Supper fun trip!
