  3. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: 15 Ft Boston Whaler ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 5/6 Time on Water: 6:30 am-9:30am Weather/Temp: Sunny 60 degrees Wind Speed/Direction: light wind Waves: less than 1 Surface Temp: 47-49 Location: Sandy Creek - East LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 11 Total Boated:10 Species Breakdown: BROWNS Hot Lure: NK Get 'er Done!!! Trolling Speed: 2.4 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 6-8ft Lure Depth: surface to 5 Ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== First off I want to give a big thanks to Capt. Lou Borrelli of Get the Net Charters. Over the past year he has shown me how it's done out here and given me some great advice. Today was one of my best days on my own boat!!!! Thanks Capt. Lou!!! Started out at 6:30 my daughter said to turn right so we fished east.... set out the boards.... let the first line out and before I got it into the clip we hooked up and landed an 18" brown... set up the rest of the spread and the Get 'er Done took off like a rocket!!! My daughter grabbed the pole and at first she thought it was snagged, I checked it and gave it right back to her, took about 15 minutes for her to bring it in . The damn fish barely fit in the net I had... I figured we had a decent fish maybe about 10 lbs.... picked through some smaller fish and hooked up and landed another decent sized brown, I was allowed to reel that one in!!!.... Then the tangle fish hit!! hooked something it went left it went right it got all of our lines into a tangled mess and spit the hook when it was done screwing the spread up!!!... got all the spoons back, had to cut a bunch of line that knotted up ... called it quits after that!! Went to Mitchel's on Lake Ave to weigh the two fish we had, again I thought the first and biggest one my daughter caught was around 10lbs and the second one might have been about 8.... WRONG!!! The second one tipped the scale at 10lbs 1oz... My daughter's fish weighed in at 14lbs 8oz!!!!!!!!!!! .... She won Top Fish of the Day prize!!!!! She is currently on top for Browns (i'll be surprised if it stays on top) and for now she is in 2nd for the Youth Division!!!!! Today was definitely the greatest fishing experience I have ever had!!!! Here are some of the pictures from today!!! Oh yeah bright colors seemed to work Today!!!! Let's see what the rest of the week brings!!! Lines Tight!! Alex

Probably the biggest brown of the day unfortunately the lamprey's got a hold of this one! Continued east hooked up with a great looking steelhead. We caught two more heading east then turned around back towards the mouth of the creek caught 5 more nice browns and jumped off one before getting to the mouth!! headed west to the first point caught 2 more nice browns and lost one trying to take off the inline board Oh well! The sun started ro drop fast so we turned back for the mouth and grabbed two more. As we were bringing in the lines we got the the last brown of the day! couldn't have asked for a better couple of hours of fishing!! The whole evening we saw fish swirling on top and a few jump clear out of the water! Once again i am not going to complain since its mid-march!!! oh yeah never got more than two lines out and never changed a lure the whole time!!! Got to love days with action like that!!!
  8. Great job!!! We did pretty good out of Sandy Creek today too!!
  9. Thanks for the link. That helped alot. Any preferences on which species or are they all generally good to eat? I know the lakers aren't great table fare, are there any others to steer away from and throw back? Thanks again guys!! Should be out there tomorrow before the st patty's day festivities begin!!!!
  10. I have a question.... i am used to fishing in florida and some of the fish as they get bigger in size we have been taught to steer away from eating them. ( reasons of hig mercury levels, and such) does this hold true for the trout and also is one species better to eat than another? Just wondering what popular opinion is here? Thanks
  11. LOL...Lou it was crammed in my oversized canoe with me and shawn... thanks for the tips.... i might try to get out one or two more times before buck fever sets in. i'll get your number from shawn and give you a shout

We started to see fish breaking the surface closer in, so we we worked our way towards about 15 fow and BAM! one of the flat lines started screaming and peeling then decided to break us off and keep the lure for a new lip piercing! Moved into 8 FOW put the J-plugs on the flat line along with the thundersticks.... as soon as the sun dropped below the trees there were fish jumping everywhere, we hooked a double brought them both to the boat and I had a revelation.... I NEED A BIGGER DAMN NET!! didn't have a scale on the boat but my buddy says one was about 20lbs and the other closer to 25lbs. Caught two more after dark both on the J-plugs caught another 20 pounder and one that was still silver and measured 26 inches. Finally put some fish in the boat and got to see some acrobatic fish as well. As we were pulling the boat someone under the bridge was hooked with a north bound missle not sure how that ended but they are out there! Now it's time for a
