  3. FINALLY got the boat out!! Glad I waited too. Boat ran great, but I found out the homemade planer boards I got will make great door jams . Time to buy some Otter Boats! Now on to the fishing... Overall went 10 for 11, started out real sloooow. Started using natural color spoons for the first hour or so with not a single hit. Switched one out for the funkiest colored spoon I had, my kid actually picked it out it wasn't in for 5 minutes and hooked up to a nice 6-7 pound brown. Hooked into 2 more before i switched everything to bright colors and then the fun began!! Caught a juvenile King, 2 Coho's, 2 more browns, an Atlantic, and a nice Steelhead! The browns were mostly in the 8-12 lb range. Stayed in 6-10 foot of water fishing on the top, to the East of the mouth to just before Cow suckers. Had one spoon flatlined with a split shot on it <---- that seemed to work the best. The rest were off the in-line planers.. .Thank God I didn't take those off the boat. All in all a great day and a great start to the season. Now time for a few

  5. Does anyone know of anywhere that does reel repairs in the Rochester area?
  6. Thanks for looking! got a quick response back. I cant figure out how to delete it!!
  7. Looking to buy a planer board mast. Preferably a dual reel mast. PM me and let me know what you have. Thanks
  8. I am looking to go snow goose hunting with a coworker and possibly my kid. I have looked online and have found a handful but i wasn't sure if anyone here knew of any , for all i know it could be someone i was already looking at? Just kind of hesitant to fork over a decent amount of money to someone over the phone to only hope they will be at the field when we get there..... Thanks guys
  9. We have gotten out a couple of times and actually had some success! We are going to give a go this weekend with the nicer weather!!! I was surprised my daughter lasted the whole day this past sunday... cold... snowing....I surely thought it would be an early day.
  10. I gave it try last year by myself and got a few mallards. My daughter is 12 and very eager to learn. I have a dozen or so decoys and two mojo wind ducks to add to whatever you got. I also have a 15ft whaler if a boat is needed or i can put in gas $$$. I am going to give braddocks a try tomorrow because i am not sure how long she will last with the weather. If interested pm me. Thanks for looking and for any considerations.
  11. how much for processing this year?
  12. GET THE KIDS OUT THERE!!!!!!!! I agree 14/15 is WAY TOO old to start a kid hunting. My family moved up to NY from a southern state where kids were able to hunt deer @ 6 or 7. It was heartbreaking to tell my daughter she couldn't hunt deer for another two years only to hear her response but we have been doing it for years down south. I am afraid this two year absence is going to cause her to lose interest in it. I will try to take her out as much as possible but I am very disappointed in NYS!!! A state that has such an abundant resource is putting kids now a days behind the 8 ball when it comes to getting outdoors. Why??? because they may see a little blood? They might see something die??? It happens when they go fishing..... They can actually see where dinner comes from!!!! I guess I just have to wait!!! Question has this age restriction always been this high in NY??? Sorry for going off like that but it is just ridiculous.
  13. What are adipose fins? And what is the significance to them? [ Post made via Android ]
  14. Way to go Lou!!! Luigi Nice fish!!! Kepp up the good work and tight lines!!
  15. Woody, Try Mayers marine out in Webster. they are on the East side of the Ibay bridge and they have a TON of older model outboards and i am sure they have parts. The old guys that work there are a little strange but they may have what you need. As for the fishing I have been too busy working to get out. Good luck!!
  16. If your babysitting, why can't you take them fishing?!!! Every kid loves to fish!! <------------ I second that! I think I am going to try it tonight!!
