Sold / Closed 88 starcraft boat and trailer

Well that didn't take long!!! Well done, PAP
  2. I just went through this with a guy a few years ago, part#856558a2'. I think all mercury 9.9 to 15hp 4 strokes can us this cord, the hard part is finding the end, it seems expensive for a extension cord but it had 4 diodes to change from ac. to dc. current. Check out Iboat. Mercury 9.9 four stroke alternator page 1. The local dealer around here didn't even know it exists, after I ordered one he stocked a few also. Hope this helps as I dug for hours and stumbled across this myself. I actually was going to make it but I couldn't figure out how I was going to get a rectifier incorporated in the harness, money well spent.
  3. Yea, you definitely have a unique situation on your hands there!!! I've been following the thread but nothing really popped out like an aha that's a problem. I really hate to think that Cannon built a hand grenade, as never had a problem but my riggers are old mag 10's. I can't help from wondering why anyone would incorporate a circuit board in the elements of the marine world, but to keep up with demands of the auto this and that, they had to create a brain in the system somewhere.
  4. Jason my curiosity got the best of me, I cheated a little and was able to see the finals, can't wait to to see the all the spoons and price lists to send you a order, definitely some eye catching material in there, great job!!! Perseverance always prevails!!!!
  5. With electrical problems most people put the carriage before the horse, check the most obvious places first, first the plugs than at the power source if linked to a battery selector then check that point also, now Gill says new everything so that leaves the link battery selector. Mine went bad and I was getting a major amp draw I noticed in my trim, when I went to trim the motor I noticed the voltage swing was major everything checked out at the motor, long story short battery 1 selector side had a problem, so new switch no problem. I would take the batteries out and have them checked out with a electronic battery tester they give you an amp draw with the voltage drop they can detect if the amp draw is in sink with voltage drop, some batteries just crash with a amp draw causing very low voltage to to compensate for the amp draw causing excessive heat at the main source, being theses new units have circuit boards there is no room for error.
  6. I have a good friend who owns a trout hatchery, and a few years ago he purchased some eggs to try to raise, his thoughts were to raise this trout for the " big fish" derby at different gun clubs and other organizations, only a small amount hatched and a lot died before they got to a certain length, after they got like 4-6 inches, those all survived and grew to about 6-8 inches the first year. The gun club I belong to got 6 of the trout, we raise our own as we have our own per say raising area with 9 stations and we stock the stream that flows through the property and I got 3 for our own pond, mine grew 2"s more than Bobby's and the gun clubs, all due to everyone feeding the fish just to see these giants, the second year they grew to about 24-26 inches and had massive shoulders. I lost one to the Blue Heron, speared behind the head and ate the eyes out, I was Pi$$ed, but it's been an issue ever since we stocked the trout, Goldens are magnets to Herons, forget about it they will kill every one. The third year we had trout pushing 30"s they were huge, and beautiful, and not many got caught due to their size and POWER it was absolutely the greatest thing when little Johnnie got hooked up with his or her little Barbie pole or little camo outfit, also the adults had their handsful with regular trout rod, but those that got landed were trout of a life time. Bob lost his rearend on those fish due to the no hatch, then the fingerling were not very hardy fish, also the ones that got caught that were in the mid to upper 20 inch mark did not due well after the catch, they either rolled over and died or it took a long time to recover for a release even when the waters were cold.
  7. Yea, I saw the pics of the lake on the other thread, and a buddy went to Maine ice fishing was going to stop at cabin just to check it out. Yea right he said 3ft or better on the ground and it looks like the artic circle up there. Most of the time you guys are 3 to 4 weeks behind. Would be nice to fish a local lake but ice is 20"s thick on Beltzville yet, hell there ice fishing on the Delaware River first I ever heard of that!!!
  8. Thanks for the kind words Guppy35, I always wondered what the correlation was on the "35" I hope the amount of fish you catch a day. LOL
  9. Yea us to, today 48* in the shade and 56* in the sun, I believe with this rain Saturday & Sunday it should be just about gone!! Thank God!!
  10. I used minn Kota plug, they have 3 terminals also and I mounted them strait down from the riggers. I put the male end on the. Rigger and the other I flush mounted as that's the style mount and they have a plug type cover to keep them dry, I just pull the little plug which is attached and plug the cord in. They are offset so you can't put the business end in backwards, works great and the wire 10 gauge or better. Either way is better than the factory plugs.
  11. I went to the site, does he have a dive chart for these divers? Might try the smaller sizes like the 2 3/4 ones for eyes, also how does the trip mechanism work hard to see on the pics. Thanks for any input.
  12. Like the noodle idea on the auxiliary steering rod. Nothing wrong with being creatiive to suit your needs. Looks good.
  13. I took care of that problem last week with my little loader bucket now she's clear of the snow, weather permitting going to start going over the axles today,
  14. Les I was just assuming it might be a fly in trip or space is always a factor when going back in the bush, I don't even know where that lake is.
  15. I take it your going to Canada fishing right? So a two piece rod would be used, easily packed away, I always used my downrigger rods and the last time I was to Canada was before the Power Pro times so I used Fire Line, but now I would use 30lbs Power Pro. The reason I use power pro is because Mark Romanack who made the trolling bibles used power pro in his books and I can easily duplicate that buy following the charts. We fished Lake Osullivan in Quebec, and dipsy divers with Blue and silver spoons at the business end always did the trick for us. I would Google the lake and see what colors produced results for that lake, most of the lakes I fished were a brown tinted water so maybe different lake different color? In May they should be shallow so mimicking the forage would be a good start, anything in perch colors worked for us j9 j13 Rapalas worked for us again we used our rigger rods and snap weights according to the depth and used the 50/50 rule of thumb, 50ft of line snap weight and another 50ft of line to the lure, and of course just using a crank bait in perch colors to achieve the depth you want. We caught some nice lakers out of that lake and only 1 got kept for mounting, 22lbs. Hope this helps and good luck on your trip. OOh reels use your line counters as you will be using weights or dipsy divers.
  16. Try lurepartsonline they have willows up to 5 1/2"s long in the little box type in blades, I got some stuff from this place and was happy, they have everything!!
  17. Sorry to hear this year Matt, they become part of our lives and get treated better than some of own family, it truly shows he lived a great life and was well loved by you and others, whom I sure feel some what the same. I'm sure like posted above he is retrieving birds as you read this. I feel your pain as I had two of my beagles drove over by the same person that never stopped, that was the end of my hunting with my dogs, it's getting to built up around here, isn't like it used to be. Now we have a beagle that is spoiled rotten, in the house dog, my daughters wanted a dog, he's five now as the girls are ten and buddy I don't want that day to ever come, this house won't be the same. Again sorry for your loss PAP.
  18. Two things I witnessed with my own 2 eyes, first if you have a fiberglass fuel cell you might not want to use the corn juice in it. This winter a friend of ours called and asked if we could come over and help him asap, so my uncles and I raced to his house and out into his garage and when we got in there I was floored, the gas was pouring out of his boat hull plug area and to make things worse is he has a coal burner in there that heats his domestic hot water, now back to the problem, we sent David to get oil dry for the floor as we put buckets under the boat to catch the fuel. He said he filled the tank 60 gallons to prevent condensation, so we pulled the piece of floor up over the fuel cell to see the boat has a fiberglass tank and it looked like it just melted, after opening the floor up enough to get the cell out it was like soft gluey blob of $hit, the alcohol in the fuel caused the fiberglass to deteriorate, used alcohol to clean up after a fiberglass project right? So Butch made him a metal fuel cell as we couldn't find a metal replacement!! My father-in-law always had a 500 gallon gas tank under ground as his smaller dump trucks were gas powered, a few years ago his lawn tractor quit after a short while mowing so we determined the fuel had water in it so we drained it out and we got another 5 gallons out of his pump only to find out that's what we got again water, so we pumped another 5 gallons and the same thing, now we stick the tank and the stick reads there is a 100 gallons in there yet but it's worthless all water, so he called his fuel supplier and he came up a few days later and pumped it out. He said you can't hold this fuel for more than 3 months or it starts to separate, the alcohol from the gas, so he has to order less and use it up or just use the street pumps and since he doesn't have anymore smaller dumps he just uses the street pumps. So that's my experiences with the corn juice. In my boat I use the 89 octane corn juice and the additives and knock on wood I haven't had any issues.
  19. LOL, Yea I would think the same.
  20. Yea, I hear you, this time of the year I think is the most dangerous, most guys want to get that last trip in and the temps are much higher making it most comfortable. I'd rather read your posts here, than anything else. Be safe, or wait until boating season either way!!!!
  21. Well said Les, and like Guffin stated about the Black River is so true, having a camper in the BRCG, before the times of Allen, the bay can be a very dangerous place, with stuff floating just under the water.
  22. Yes they can be adjusted to any lbs, for a nice release on anything that swims in lakeO or any body of water. I use a trigger set scale to adjust mine and I used my daughters bright finger nail polish to mark the settings, use the slot in the screw and line up the predetermined lbs settings and align the slot with the marks and there you go. Also I don't use rubber bands with the blacks
  23. I sure had my fair share of line wraped around the prop of the boat, and it wasn't are own, it's to the point I check it periodically. I know we are very careful with waste line on the account of birds and animals, and my prop!!!!
