  2. The sandy pond channel maintenance club had a website with some overhead pics from last year that may help you find the route Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Very shallow on the lake side. Last year you had to head a bit south after a couple hundred yards into the lake. Look for dark water and trim up. I will be doing my shakedown next week after finishing up my new kicker project and was hoping someone had gone through to report how it is this year. 4. We did try for tarpon and ended up with sharks. Saw a few roll and that was about it. Headed to the pier now for last shot as we leave in the morning Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I love it down here and will continue to visit until my 9 year old graduates. Then it will be time to winter down here and really learn the area hot spots. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. Thanks. I have forwarded the cable info to the marina doing the work and they like the idea also. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Thanks for the responses. Doesn't your finger get sore from pushing a button all day? Steering from the wheel seems more natural, steering from a button must have a learning curve and take some time getting used to? Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. No comments on the cable is telling me people don't use them and there may be a reason. Anyone seen them before? http://www.seastarsolutions.com/products/hydraulic-new/outboard-new/seastar_kicker/ Data sheet: http://www.seastarsolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hos2-seastar_kicker.pdf

  12. Here is the mouth of the little salmon last weekend Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. I am new to the lake last year, but have fished the river for many years with a fly rod. For that reason I started with a perfection loop and it hasn't failed me yet. Will definitely change them out every year though.
  14. Putting a kicker on in the next month or so and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Sea Star kicker cable. I have hydraulic steering on a 200 outboard on stainless bracket and the cable looks like a great solution. I think the offset between where the outboard is on the bracket (about 30 in. away from transom) and where the kicker is going to be would be too great to have an ez steer bracket work effectively, and this looks like the next best thing without spending big $ on a separate system. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
  15. Dream catcher is right in key West and have plenty of boats. We also rented a boat and had great luck with some help of the locals Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. I think there is one for sale right in Pulaski across from the Salmon River Sports Shop. I would give them a call and ask them to look out their window and get the # for you if they see it.
  17. Lost one on Sunday due to a rookie error. I attached a new fly to a flasher and apparently did not snap the swivel all the way and it pulled straight when the fish ran. Monday morning was good went right out to 120 with almost no boat traffic and got 2 on dipsey/spinny in green and white variations, Both good size, with the biggest at 30 lb. In having breakfast by 10 and on the river with fly rod in hand for the afternoon. It's a great time of year!
  18. After I talked to you at the dock, we went back out in the afternoon a little deeper than the pack. Found some 58 degree water down 170 over 300 and had one hit on the bullfrog pro troll and a brand new Atomik Killer Green fly that I bought on lunch. I work for a pet food company, so I have access to pure herring oil all the time and keep a little jar on the boat to dip flies and spoons before I run them. Not sure if it helps, but it must mask human odor. Weighed in at 27 lbs, our best so far this year. Also hooked one in the river in the morning at the ballpark and lost him trying for a lake/river double in the same day.
