  1. We saw a boat in trouble yesterday, guys were putting on their life vests and waving to us. As we turned towards them to help, the boat capsized that fast and they were in the water and scrambling to climb on top of their now upside down center console. We scooped them up and managed to tie onto their boat. We called the coast guard and continued to tow the boat until we reached just south of the south dune. We had to cut her free when we got into about 7 feet when the Bimini started dragging and stuck on the bottom. I marked the coordinates so they could call a salvage company. We took them to their vehicle and they had to wait for the guys wife to bring the extra set of keys as his were locked in the capsized boat. They lost alot, but were grateful we were in the right place at the right time. The coast guard came after about a half hour and just stayed with us to monitor us towing his boat from 100ft depth to about 20, and had to turn around due to the shallow water. It felt good to hear the coat guard say that we seemed more than capable of towing them in, and we were happy to help them. Sent from my SM-G988U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. Fished the North Pond dunes sat and sun. 6 for 8 sat, 4 Lakers and 2 Skippy's. Released one laker that would have placed in the ELOSTA tourney. Live and learn. Sunday was real slow so we went back to the bottom program and managed 4 more Lakers and another skippy. All on blue UV dolphin flasher and blue krinkle fly except one nice laker on white Spin Dr and white fly. 130-160 on the bottom. Running at the temp line didn't move a rod. Went out for a couple hours on sun and managed 2 for 4 with a small laker and Skippy king in 120. Had a 10 color lead core with a UV spoon take a big rip but came unbuttoned. Also lost something big off the bottom with the same blue ff combo as the day before. Pulled quite a bit of drag and didn't feel like a laker. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. The worst part of the channel now is on the lake side. They did a great job dredging last year. A couple hundred feet into the lake and depth is just under 3 feet. I have used the channel for 3 years now and will donate this year to make sure it stays open. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Didn't move a rod sunday in front of sandy.
  19. We found a dead one on the lake yesterday that had a seagull stuck on it. The fish had a rapala x rap it had snapped off from the fisherman and the seagull tried to eat the x rap. He was stuck on the lure and was being pulled under by the dead fish bobbing in the waves. We netted the whole mess and freed the gull and got a new x rap! 20. We just trolled with stick baits and spoons looking for depth breaks. In the fog they came right to the top and later in the day we switched up to some medium running crank baits and just covered some water. We probably got a dozen or so with a couple of bass as well. I saw a couple of big walleye caught from the south pond at our campground. I have not seen too many walleye from the north pond. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  22. Couldn't get out on the lake today so cruised around the pond and caught a bunch of northerns with the kids and made a memory for all of us! Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I have the sea star on an outboard and just installed a 9.9 kicker last weekend. I wanted to be able to steer from my wheel and not push buttons all day. I also didn't love the idea of an EZ steer, so I kept looking and found that sea star has a kicker cable for steering that works off the main motor. Got to do a quick shakedown on sunday and everything worked great. I can independently raise and lower both motors without any issue. It was a bit pricey at $400, but so far I am very happy with the performance.
  24. I am at Seber Shores as well. Went out Sunday with no issues but it is shallow on the lake side going out. There are shallow buoys on both sides, I hung toward the ones on the starboard side, where the darker water was. I went out on the south side of the pond, I had my gps info from last year when they dredged and had no problems. The shallowest I went through was 3.4ft The pond has produced some nice catches of bass and pike for us over the years. The last couple years we have even landed quite a few good size bowfin
