    Why is it that when I hit my brakes the tail lights go out and I have no light to the tail lights? Once I let off the brakes the tail lights come on again. Thanks in advance,

    I did that for a little while with no real luck. So you are saying if I keep doing it the fuel will eventually start sucking back through?

    I started my boat motor this morning and I forgot to turn the fuel valve bact to the on position. It ran for five minutes then stalled out, this is when I realized that the valve wasn't turned back on. I dumped some fuel in to the carb, it run run for ten seconds the stall again. I also filled my fuel water seperator with gas and it would run for a couple minutes the. Stall out again. What is the best way to get the fuel flow back to the motor?

    I have tried pumping it while it's running and it still stalls out.

    It will start right back up if I squeeze the primer ball.

    The rpms do not race, it just stalls out.

    Thanks everyone for the input! I hooked up another fuel tank on the back of the boat and still had the same issues. Checked all the lines running from the small tank to the motor and all seemed fine. Also put on a new primer ball as well. Should I be thinking new fuel pump next?

    Does anyone pull spoons behind rotators or spin doctors? Someone told me to do it the other day and honestly I have never heard of such a thing. My theory was the action of the spinny would make it so the spoon wouldn't swim right. I could be wrong but wanted to get some more opinions. Thanks.

    My main engine seems to run just fine, never had a problem with that.

    The primer bulb will get hard but not stay hard. I also changed out the seperator last year.

    I know I have a fuel water seperator that everything has to run through to get to my engines.

    My kicker runs off of my main fuel tank.

    I have a 96 mercury 9.9 four stroke kicker. I will be trolling with it and after 10 to 15 minutes it will just stall out on me. I will immediately restart it and it will do the same thing all over again. I was going to start by changing the fuel filter and cleaning the carb. Any suggestions or am I moving in the right direction? Thanks!

    I have a 1996 mercury 9.9 four stroke. Always been a great motor and never had any serious problems with it. It just recently started shutting off on me. I will be trolling around the lake for ten to twenty minutes at a time with no problems and it will just shut off. I will restart the motor ,be good for another short period of time and do the same thing again. I was thinking about changing the fuel filter and cleaning the carb. Any other suggestions or am I going in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

    I Have a probe but I've heard of some people checking temp before they go so they have a rough idea where to go.
